For mobile, I reckon you should start with prepaid first. The mobile plan that suits you best depends on the bunch of friends you'll be calling most.

yeapz agreed...when u r more settled....u will usually use 3g (the company name is like dat.....dun ask me y)....coz it has the best deal for money....however the service quite sucky compared 2 other service provider...ie...credit balance checking, "prompt-ness" of its sms / voicemail is very doubtful.....
erm.....bank account ar...use the daily account....diferent bank got different names 4 dat...my advice....use comm bank.....best!!!....most ATM around....very common....the australian post office is their authorized service partner oso...which means u can oso deal ur stuffs in post office...if u use comm bank...for tertiary students,....banking is free...no fees.....juz need 2 prove to them u r a student every year n dats it!! |

QUOTE(jae @ Jan 14 2007, 05:01 PM) hmm i'll be going to unsw this feb for commerce, anyone here is going there for the same course or currently a student doing this course there? Of course not! Sydney > Melbourne. Yes, I know this will incite flames in here, but I just say it for the heck of it anyway. dunno if this is only me or what, but among those of my friends going to aust, almost all are going to melbourne, none going to sydney except for me, so i was wondering if melb is really the more desired place among students here as compared to sydney? I'm at UNSW Commerce too, combining it with my Engineering program. Gonna do ECON1101 this coming session. |

There shouldn't be anything to worry about if everyone is going to Melb as isnt the whole purpose of studying abroad is to meet new friends from other countries not just limited to malaysians. Having said that sydney has a lot of malaysians and indons itself so nothing to worry about dunno if this is only me or what, but among those of my friends going to aust, almost all are going to melbourne, none going to sydney except for me, so i was wondering if melb is really the more desired place among students here as compared to sydney? |

Having said that sydney has a lot of malaysians and indons itself so nothing to worry about well i agree with you, my point is i'm just having this feeling that more students have melbourne(as a destination, not only melb uni) as their top choices over sydney or other cities in australia...and yeah meeting new friends is the one of the main objective studying abroad, but i would rather have some old friends, at least one or two will do going to the same place with me, at least we could provide each other company before we get to mix with others isnt it, but that's just my opinion... |
