Does anyone know mazda cx5 skytint is how thick and percentage heat ? Noted the front is really useless against the heat at all but side and back can accept.

Just collect my cx5 GLS and really no regret at first want to get GL but after calculated LED headlamp cost about RM5,940 per pc and back light about 2k plus perside i feel GLS is worth it.

Yup, all the while I remain unchange say GLS always more worth then GL....hehe...if u r spec or features geek then better spend more instead of regret later.....but if u just want the look and engine but dont want any features then GL will be fine.

Hmm apparently comfort on the 2.5L backseat is very bad due to the 19" rims. Any thoughts ?

So far no strong complaint from my family members and colleagues....maybe I slow down a lot when go through bump and reduce tyre pressure to 240........but some forumers say kena complain no comfort....what I feel the car really much higher then my colleague 2.0L 17".

Again if u trade in ur brand new 19" for 17" then maybe u still can earn hehe.... tyres n rims all can change but do remember that engine cant change for ur CX5 (at least no 1 try in Msia gehe)... unless u change car......

Sat in both 17" and 19". Not sure what tire pressure on both and 19" is significantly worst.

Honestly I prefer boss speaker then getting 19" haha...but it did looked much nicer on SUV.....again I choose the engine performance instead of the 19" rims.....really big diff if u try both....

As driver, of course the 2.5. Vast difference.

As rear passenger, no way I want to sit in a 19". One reason I didn't get the CX5.

Regarding the i-stop i tested today how com the system show it not ready. When i stopped at traffic light and step on the brake pedal, the engine switch for only 10 second then restart even my foot still at brake pedal......is it due to a/c system or anything? Any idea fren?

I have been driving my new CX-5 2.0 for few days, really enjoy driving this car, it is much quieter ride than from my previous car, quite a balance between driving fund and comfort, i think i like the 17" rims size with thicker profile tyres as I feel the ride is stable and more towards comfort, I let my wife sit at the rear seats and she said she hardly could feel any discomfort, maybe the fabric seats of 2.0 GL is quite comfortable to sit for her. As a driver, I must say I love the handling of the CX-5, really feel like driving a sedan car, very easy to maneuver.

So far I have just discovered one thing which does not work is the rain sensor wiper, I have turned it on the Mazda audio panel, and the wiper control knob is set to Auto, however when it rained, the wiper did not start automatically, is that problem with the rain sensor ? I tried to pour water on the windscreen and it did not help the wipers to automatically work. Maybe have to ask the SC to check during my first service.

Yup, no doubt CX5 driving feel is awesome and just like sedan or feel even better response then some famous sedan brand... maybe that is so call Handling or 1 of the main selling point for Mazda. My wife and mum both feel comfort at the back despite ppls keep on complain too straight, they feel almost same even though a bit straight...may op for after market bracket to achieve more recline angle....plug n play n price ~RM160 to 200..

For auto wiper, did you replaced or applied new windscreen tinted?

Did you try drive longer distance then test again?
i-Stop max duration is 2 mins or 120s and sometime I feel if just start engine then it can't last long but if after long drive then should be ok.
Others things like car vibrate or low A/C setting will impacted it, if not wrong like need above 18C or 20C...

Not yet, my windscreen is still with the stock Skytint. Maybe the stock rain sensor is not working one, will have no choice to ask the SC to check for me. Hopefully it does not need to replace the whole windscreen to fix the rain sensor right ?

CX-5's control and turning is accurate to my liking, at that high sitting position, I still feel like driving a sedan rather than a SUV or MPV. I feel that the maneuver and cornering capability is definitely better than my ex-car which is Hyundai Elantra.

Hi chuah, I just tested my CX-5 with pouring some water on the windscreen at the rain sensor part, the automatic wipers does work !!!! , I think yesterday I did not really set the wiper knob to Auto mode, it was at disabled mode, nothing to do with the rain sensor not working lah... sorry my bad, first time i own a car with rain sensor, dun even know the basic of automatic wipers.. pai sei lah...

so changing the tint screen might have a chance of causing problem to the rain sensor ?
I do feel that the stock skytint does not have enough high heat rejection as my liking, can I add one more layer of 1 mil tint on the windscreen and side windows just to block additional 60% of heat... I am thinking to spend like only RM 600-1000 for tint screen, not sure if this is a good idea ? I dun want to waste the stock skytint....

Go for 2.5L if ur budget is allowable...FC almost same as 2.0L, my 2.5L 2WD can hit 5xxkm with R95 for 50/50. Only recent 5W-40 make me hit 49xkm......some forumer can even hit 550 to 600km.

Big diff for pick up and smooth poweful drive....price diff about 10-12k depend on rebate.... of cause double roadtax n much higher tyres maintenance but enjoy the drive.....big car but feel like 2.0V sedan performance. I  believe the 2.5L price is still cheaper then some famous brand 2.4L.....

If your budget lagi more then consider the 2.2L Turbo Diesel....

Hehhe just my personal opinion....I almost give up 2.0L CX5 when test drive it ....FYI, I was from 2.0L Altis n can feel the big pick up sluggist unless play with the pedal but once try 2.5L then no regret of choosing it.....

Try ask ur dad test drive both before decide .....if ur dad from sedan 2.0L or 2.4L then doubt he will like 2.0L....heheh

Thanks , my dad finally went with the 2.5L variant 2WD

Since no point getting AWD when you are mostly on highways

Hi all i got one concern after i got a news from my fren that his fren car (brand XXX) got smart keyless system, so as he was driving at a speed of 100 plus at highways. Suddenly his remote control smart keyless battery run flap. At that moment his car engine suddenly turn off, he loss control of his car becos no electric system running so he could not brake or control his steering (electric power), his car then knocked into a few cars and divider. This is real story and how safe is smart keyless system?

Glad that your dad make up his mind...wise choice hehe.....
Not to say AWD no function, it will be useful when on heavy rain n wet surface which provide awesome grips to avoid car skid during cornering or over take.... better safety...but more $$$ n higher FC heheh... I also give that up n only go for 2WD hehe....
