Hi chuah, I just tested my CX-5 with pouring some water on the windscreen at the rain sensor part, the automatic wipers does work !!!! , I think yesterday I did not really set the wiper knob to Auto mode, it was at disabled mode, nothing to do with the rain sensor not working lah... sorry my bad, first time i own a car with rain sensor, dun even know the basic of automatic wipers.. pai sei lah...

so changing the tint screen might have a chance of causing problem to the rain sensor ?
I do feel that the stock skytint does not have enough high heat rejection as my liking, can I add one more layer of 1 mil tint on the windscreen and side windows just to block additional 60% of heat... I am thinking to spend like only RM 600-1000 for tint screen, not sure if this is a good idea ? I dun want to waste the stock skytint....
*
Glad that no issue with ur auto wiper.....no need pai seh as we all learn n share details together...

I think so far only read 1 user rosak after replace tint n maybe just rare case....

Cant apply 2 layers on windscreen, need to remove and replace......I yet to replace mine too as like wt u say feel sayang to remove original stuff hehe...honestly skytint really cacat on heat protection haha my face palm all feel hot....soon when cannot tahan will go for it hehe....my coating shop who also provide tint service mention side windows n back screen can apply 2 layers but not front hehe maybe easily kena tangkap....

Most famous brand now is Huper Optik but my fren cx5 gps die after done the s75 on windscreen....heard better get sech60 for front to avoid GPS signals cacat...maybe others user can comment on this....

My Gtechiq coating owner also provide tinted and recently they have imported Haverkamp German Tinted which was told is comparable or better then huper optik... (they also have huper optik too).. I was told no issue on GPS signal and only those w/ metal components tinted will impacted GPS signal....if you are in Pg then I can provide his contact to you and I believe KL Gtechiq shop also provide this tinted too.

You may check with Mazda .....honestly now 90% of new car all equip with smart entry or push start....is it safe or not emmm no 1 can guarantee it ... so far what I read from CX5 club or forum...never see any users complain this issue b4.. i believe it will triggered alarm notification when batt almost flat...some say the press button light will keep on blind or remain on after engine start....maybe some indication on meter icons... need to ask those CX5 pioneer hehe...prevention better then cure....when the remote intermittent cant unlock door then is time to change batt....dont ignore it.....

Any others CX5 pioneer wanna comment on this or how our cx5 can trigger for remote batt low?

It's said it makes it far easier to steal car. The only way to prevent that is may be put car key insider your refrigerator.

If they can duplicate the signal then i don't think it would be too difficult for them to amplify the signal. Even more effortless than actually having to break the car window to steal the car.

The thieves were believed to be have used a device to duplicate the signal of the car's remote control alarm to unlock the vehicle before driving away. - See more at: http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia...h.g1vIL1Xs.dpuf

I called up CannyCool at Subang Jaya, I was told I could apply the second layer which should be only 1 mil, and it could be a transparent one to avoid getting too dark. The boss said that I dun have spend so much money on the second layer, so maybe RM 400-600 with another layer with heat rejection like 60-70% should be sufficient... I think the tint is not USA one, could be either Korea or China made one, not sure...

By the way, does CX-5 have the walk away auto lock ? Like we walk away from the car with our remote control for more than 10 meters and the car will be locked automatically ? Or the autolock is more like timer based only ? I checked the setting at the panel, can only set 30,60,90 seconds like that. If we leave my remote control in the car, would it still auto lock the door ?

OK, one day will try that.

For engine oil, I am not sure if the free Shell semi-synthetic could last up to 10K before next change, if we decide to change the engine oil at 7-8K of driving, would the Mazda SC accept it as free service ?

Or most of the CX-5 owners still use the Shell semi-synthetic and only change the engine oil every 10K KM ?

Free Service only Semi-Synthetic 5W-30, if look for fully synthetic then need to top up....
lots of user say the free semi can only tahan like 6-7k then after that feel sluggist d....

SC only offer 5W-40 fully synthetic which was told by expert that not optimize for our engine as our engine suppose for xW-20 or worst also xW-30...
New 0W-30 Fully Synthetic already onboard mainly for Skyactive-D but was told can work for gasoline as well just price very "sui" haha

wah like that if take the free 5w-30 semi synthetic, I would rather change it at 5K of driving at workshop outside using my own oil filter. I called up Mazda spared shop in KL, can buy the original oil filter at RM 25.
But then let say if I buy another Shell semi synthetic 5w-30 for RM 100, i will have to pay for RM 100 + 25 (oil filter) + 25 (labor charges) for changing the engine oil.

Since feedback from other owners that shell full synthetic 5w-40 not that optimized for CX-5, then hopefully we can have the option for 0w-30 full synthetic... but if the price for 0w-30 is like over RM 200 for top up... then i rather use my own method above to keep using 5w-30 semi synthetic, one free given by SC use it up to the first 5K, then change to new 5w-30 semi synthetic for another 5K... at least changing the engine oil more often can keep the engine cleaner...

when can we know that if 0w-30 can be used for skyactive petrol ?

Mazda SC told me yes no problem to use fully synthetic 0W-30 for gasoline CX5 but very exp... lots of ppls complain a bit over price.
If outside then rather go for the best CX5 EO which is Fully Synthetic 0W-20 w/ SNGF5 rating, Shell EO only mention SN rating from API but unknown for the ILSAC rating which miss out the GF5 details. Per my understanding from CX5 expert, only both rating EO is the best and suite us. However, I think Mazda Malaysia only use authorize Shell EO during service and Shell 0W-20 is not common here too.

Join the CX-5ers FB group and you will learned a lot there including where to get optimum EO from outside but mostly only in KL area.
Another CX5 FB group will be MCCM and feel free to join both also..
You will get a lots of details about where to get CX5 accessories and technical details from both forums.....

OK, you got the point, then may have to get the free Shell Semi-Synthetic from the SC, then on the same day go outside to change to branded full synthetic one which is full synthetic 0w-20, I think can reuse the oil filter right since it is still new ? then only pay for the cost of new Full Synthetic and labor charges outside... not sure got cx-5 owners doing this or not, haha ?

I have never used semi-synthetic for over 10 years in previous cars...dun really wanna feed my cx-5 with semi-synthetic for the first 3 years leh... too bad the Shell full synthetic not that optimized for cx-5, haiyah...
