Has anyone installed Android Auto on CX-5

My Dad would be getting his CX5 tomorrow

Time to get AA to run on this CX5 , that makes it a lot easier , once AA supports Waze

Can use the headunit to display bigger waze map and alert

As what I know, it is not 100% perfect yet as online review still mention some dragback like have to turn on bluetooth to disable the radio sound, when need to upgrade SW then have to revert back else will brick the system, playing video have somel steps require etc.....

just want to know Malaysia CX5 owner have face the same problem or not, and see is there any solution to prevent second cracked..

Anyway my dad got his CX-5 , first thing I did was to install Android Auto and also the funny part is that this car has WiFi , very strange. Not sure what's the purpose but yeah it has WiFi

Bermaz offers this Shell Helix Ultra 0w30 ECT C2/C3 for Skyactiv-D CX5. Issue is Malaysia does not have enough stations offering Euro 5 diesel fuel. Euro 4 diesel has 40 ppm sulphur while Euro 5 diesel has 10 ppm. The higher the sulphur content, the higher the acidity. Low SAPS oil like Shell Helix Ultra 0w30 ECT C2/C3 is not so suitable as it is not able to neutralize the acidic by product of Euro 4 diesel. Those who has access to Euro 5 diesel will not have this problem.

For those who have access mainly to Euro 4 diesel, better stick to mid SAPS with spec C3.

How about if we use the Shell Helix Ultra 0w30 ECT C2/C3 on gasoline engine? Will be harm the Skyactive-G with either R95 or R97 petrol?

How to install

1. Prepare a USB Thumbdrive. Format it as Fat32
2. Download https://github.com/gartnera/headunit/releases , the release 0.93A
3. Unzip it , put in the thumb drive
4. Bring it over to your CX-5
5. Plug it in , and wait for 2-3 minutes
6. A pop-up appears , press update
7. Let it update and reboot
8. once it has rebooted you would see Android Auto
9. Download the Android Auto app from play store . It is not in Malaysia , so go to APKMirror or somewhere to download it and install
10. Plug in the cable and start Android Auto. Poof it works

Your spotify , your music and everything !

So 0.93a is only AA but not the tweak version that enable spedometer, video player etc? I heard the tweak 1 is v1.50.....

Don't install that AIO tweak. If you do , you can't do a factory reset . The tweak pack is V1.5.0 , but the Android Auto is version 0.93A

The whole AIO tweak is risky , it installs all and the kitchen sink , if one thing screws up - thats it - your CMU never boots up and get stuck in the Mazda logo forever

By the way , did you know our car has wifi ?

Yep. Can do a factory reset. No worries about it

IC as read ur posted link n mention some issue with sm.automatic file for auto button etc plus new phone with latest google service is not working etc...

Anyone just book CX5 recently? how much cash rebate for 2.0L high spec now?

Try to get it in KL cos get more rebate than other state, trust me cos i got my cx5 there but sorry can't tell u how much rebate . I have checked around and found KL or Selangor offer better rebate cos too many dealer there ........

Anyone install those auto lock? How come some place sell RM250-350 but some place like SC sell RM600 plus? Any different?
