Salary feeds you every month and pay your bills.

However, bear in mind that salary makes you happy at the end/beginning of the month only and job interest keeps you happy when you work. I myself have took a job which I didn't like for the sake of money and found myself happy only on the 27th of each month (pay day). That's a really sad way to live your working life.

However, your interest should be reasonably realistic and the salary must be at least sufficient to meet your needs. The right choice should be a balance between salary and interest.

Pay could be a very short term thinking. Everybody wants more money, but sometimes, if your are in a job which suits your interest, you will love your job (but not nessecarily the company) and you will also become better at what you do, and eventually you may be more in demand.

If you can do a job you don't like really well, then you can still go far. However, most people will become better, happier and more motivated doing something they like and this kind of people may have a better chance to climb up the ladder. Salary can change in a blink of an eye once you found a higher paying job, but years of experience and knowledge takes time.

bear in mind u work at least 8 hours a day, at least 5 days a week.
it's the thing u see almost everyday
so there needs to be an interest in it or else u won't sustain.

being interested in wat u do will make the pain (like working lots of OT) bearable and u'll perform better, hence leading to better salary smile.gif

Some company doesn't allow to claim OT even though you work more than normal working hours. It falls under job description implicitly.

At the end of the day, you still need to choose a side.

This is a tough question, I use to work towards interest, but after fews year stick to interest, I think I will aim for salary now. Cos when you have more commitment, interest is not important anymore, because anywhere you work interest will become bored.

everybody has his/her own price ... you can make anyone do what they dont like as long as you pay high enough.

That's the best answer I got.

but i kinda agree with what Unbelievable said too smile.gif

Labour Law states that whoever is earning more than RM1.5K is not entitled to claim for OT.

dont tell me interest is more important, interest canot feed your stomach everyday.....

The ideal job is interest and salary must be balance, else choose salary over interest. You can only choose interest over salary if you're rich enough.

I doubt there will ever be a right answer to this as there are so many pros and cons to choosing salary against interest and vice versa. Again it depends on the very situation and conditions a person is in currently and of course ultimately the individual itself. Maybe if he/she doesnt have a family to support can go for interest and any sort of salary ???? biggrin.gif

for current me...i will choose higher salary...u know y??
this is because we can take higher salary(let say RM2500) to do something that we wan to do...like do future investment plan, doing other business as ur part time to increase ur money....and so on...

however if u choose ur interest job but lower salary(let say rm1600-rm1800),ur spending is limit only...so this will not encourage u to do other thing as i mentioned.

For ur additional information, as a human, our interest may change from time to time...mayb after certain period, wat u wan is not previous u wan!!!!!that y i said interest is not my 1st option. That day i attend a seminar, after survey from country, they said almost 85% of worker do their work but that is not their interest. What they concern is not interest but money to survive only.

the important is know to use this money for future financial plan
No money no talk!!!No choice...we live at reality life!!!!!

As conculsion, we must work for our dream!!!don work for money bcos this is quite hard for us to survive!!!!!!!!!!

Depends on how high is high... very subjective.

No money, interest may get lost. With money, maybe non-interested job becomes new interest.

For example, give you choice to play/test games for cheap salary RM2k or work in whatever desk job for rm5k. Which to choose?
