Upgrading a collegue of mine newly bought HP stream netbook alike with Windows 8.1 with Bing to Windows 10. Finger cross everything alright. Is powered by Intel Celeron with 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC, oh man, what on earth people now always still buy products based on the look and color as priority. Alright, enough of ranting, 12% progressing....

I also have the black screen hang issue once after I set the auto login. After pressing the reset button on the CPU, it rebooted and everything seems fine afterwards. Asus mobo + Nvidia GTX780. First time has this issue.

Have you try to unplug your PCI graphic card? then use onboard one?
i highly suspect it was caused by the onboard graphics

No, mine is a laptop with onboard HD4600 and Nvidia discrete graphics so I can't pull it out...
But I did try the DDU described above by @ngkhanmein. It shaved off at least 10 secs off the black screen but its still there.

I'm going to do another clean fresh install later and this time I'm going to install the
Intel Chipset drivers, Intel HD4600 drivers and the latest Nvidia drivers first before I connect to the internet...

Fixed it. Now, from Power On to Desktop in 9 secs.

Restart is still the same though, takes forever to get into Desktop.

Btw, I use netplwiz to sign on automatically for me...

Wow, my computer can only achieved that speed when I was using win8.1.. After upgrading to win10, the startup time is much slower.

After i did the DDU and reinstall GC driver. I feel nothing much changed when restarting pc.
But this morning, when I power on my pc, it goes REALLY fast into my login screen from start.

But.. restarting, still same.. i guess it was the OS problem... hmm.gif

Btw had you re-reformat and reinstall your OS? as mentioned yesterday?

that's the effect of fastboot. it's there since w8. as long as you do boot and shutdown as usual you will get very fast access to windows desktop. a restart will start from fresh again, going back to normal boot time.

Yes I did. Booting after Shutdown is fast but Restarting is still slow.
