Hmm... trying to convert the login to Microsoft Account, but after providing the hotmail account & old password, the panel gone and...... nothing happens. Huh?Solved that part by setting it up as additional family user.... But, still can't login Market to download apps, is it just me or MS server issue? Also... Never had this happened in Preview, but now... This post has been edited by xonedl: Jul 31 2015, 07:00 PM

QUOTE(Gamatatsu0207 @ Jul 31 2015, 04:38 PM) Yes, mine was successfully installed....only cant detect the soundcard hardware (which is realtek)....seems like mine is not there although the driver has been properly installed. Already emailed to ASUS customer service bout this matter, awaiting for their reply... If no choice, I might hv to revert back to Win7..... have you tried using Win 8.1 driver to update? For those hardware that do not come with Win10, I just download and use Win 8.1 drivers, so far all working.

QUOTE(dokidoki @ Jul 31 2015, 04:52 PM) any ideas how can i fast access windows explorer option other than use windows short cut key? windows 8...we can pin the file explorer on taskbar....now seem like this option is gone. You mean you want to access This PC instead of Quick Access? Open File Explorer, click View on top, click Option, change "Open File Explorer to" to "This PC"

anyone having driver issues i suggest you try iobits driver booster. it reliably finds, downloads and installs all the latest drivers on your machine. there are also other free alternatives. i think intel also has a driver update tool as well

One thing that I discover yesterday... Get rid of any VPN client like Cisco VPN, etc before upgrading. Else can wreck havoc with the internet connectivity. Other than that, smoothest upgrade experience. If you change your mind, can go back to Win 8.1 with a couple of click. Your machine will be return back to Win 8.1 perfectly. QUOTE(lowyard @ Jul 31 2015, 05:33 PM) just uninstall any problematic hardware, then install it back using 8.1 drivers. I read it doesn't support legacy hardware (classify it as likely or viewed as problematic). My card is a Nvidia GS7600..now deemed as legacy and incompatible. Yup..I know its old, but ok for my purposes and no gaming stuff. Rather I upgrade phone than upgrade video card, if its still working..lol! I'm going to do a clean install on a spare old HDD..see how everything works out, only then upgrade from Win 7..if not?..I stay Win7 till new PC.. That mean you can revert back without reinstalling from scratch. There're some updates being push today. I think the update can't be turn off, couldn't find any option to do that. Not 100% sure though.

I need to ask you guys some questions before upgrading my Win8.1 to Win10.
1. How can I do clean/fresh install Win10? AFAIK I need to d/l and upgrade my current Win8.1 to Win10 then I can do the clean install. Is it true?
2. So after upgrading from Win8.1 to Win10, does this new Win10 license last forever? There're a lot of confusions, some reports say upgraded windows users can only enjoy Win10 for one year, sorta like limited time free trial, but some claim that as long as you upgrade your Win8.1 to Win10 within one year, you can use Win10 forever. So which on is true?
3. I'm thinking to do a whole PC upgrade next year and will do a clean install for it, how does the Win10 handle for new PC configurations assuming the Win10 already activated?
Thanks.
