Updated to Windows 10. Noticed Two Major problems already.

1. I lost my audio. No sound coming out from anything, youtube, spotify etc...

2. My Kaspersky is missing.

How to fix this please? Microsoft Community not very helpful sad.gif

Is there a way to downgrade to Windows 7 again? I am not happy with the update.

use disk cleanup.

How can I get my w10 key then? Do you mean w8.1 key=win10 key?
*
you don't. at least for free upgrade offer, you don't need any key. the new ms activation server collects your hardware profile, so the next time you do a w10 fresh install on the same computer, you just skip all the places that ask for key, and your computer will be activated automatically when it's connected to the internet.

for your records however, you should keep that old key.

1. find the compatible driver from manufacturer's support webpage.
2. reinstall your kaspesky.

Hi all,

My experience on Upgrading to Win 10.

1. Using the normal Windows Update but no luck...indicate Failed error code 80240020.

2. Tried delete the Sofware distribution folder files and command prompt to start download. Windows 10 downloading but failed again.

3. Use the Media Creation Tool and try create a USB bootable installer but can not detect my flash drive.

4. Change to Upgrade this PC and Something Happened pop out. haizzzz.

Now after reading this forum.. I will try to change the Language and see how it goes.

If it is still not working then I bring my laptop to Thunder Match and see how much they charge for the upgrading service.

try this perhaps?

Yes, mine was successfully installed....only cant detect the soundcard hardware (which is realtek)....seems like mine is not there although the driver has been properly installed.

Already emailed to ASUS customer service bout this matter, awaiting for their reply...

If no choice, I might hv to revert back to Win7..... sad.gif  sad.gif

how do you upgrade it from your windows 7 ??? From iso ( USB or DVD or Direct ).

For Realtek issues, you can try this

Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs

Use software like 7-zip to extract those iso file, you will then get the exe setup file

You need the tool to create bootable Windows10 thumbdrive.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

After execute it The ISO creator will download the Windows 10 installation file and copy to your thumbdrive.

Also, just execute the EXE file on thumbdrive to upgrade to Windows 10 if clean installation is not needed.

Ya, we need the ISO creator to download the installation files... Then , just run the exe file and the installation will start , right ? Why we need rufu ?

Rufus is not needed, unless you already have to ISO.
Because the Windows 10 media creation tool will download Windows 10 from scratch iirc sweat.gif

It seems like we can turn off the automatic updates just like win7 and win8.1 using the same method ?
