I have revised some of the components as follows:-

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
Motherboard - ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming
Video Card - ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1660 Ti O6G
Memory - G.Skill TridentZ RGB 16GB 3200MHz CL14 (samsung b-die chip)
SSD - ADATA XPG SX8200 PRO 512GB
Power Supply - Seasonic Focus Plus 650W
Case - Phanteks P400S SE Black/White

Slightly over budget, but still OK, final price quoted around RM5,388.

Will the money spent worth the performance, or should i just go for the idealtech promo? The price is very tempting compared to my custom build.

I was considering the same mobo previously but at the end bought ASUS ROG Strix X370-F Gaming

Didn't even bother. I'll see how much improvement with less background crap and PBO on.

Today's price

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X - 1399
Core i7-8700K - 1699 (no cooler)
Core i7-9700K - 1799 (no cooler)
Core i9-9900K - 2399 (no cooler)

You tell me.

9900K definitely will enable me to get another Ryzen 5 2600 + Asrock B450 Pro4 + 8-16GB RAM. Work farm anyone?

Don't even know the model yet, if 3600 then it's likely going to be Ryzen 5.

my experience with..
16gb density kits bdie only good for ram speed. not much on timings. also they are very difficult to test and require long hours and multiple runs to confirm stability. too many false stable. also the vdimm scaling is terrible.

I believe CL15 kit have better compatibility.
My CL16 kit only can run 2933MHz ( pumped to 1.375V still same ) although rated 3200MHz, but I use 2660MHz for better stability. On 1st gen Ryzen 7 1700 with quite new BIOS.

Alleged pictures of an unnamed upcoming AMD Graphics Card PCB has leaked. Might as well be Navi or a Navi test unit because what else is there, except for workstation. According to the leaked image, the GPU is using 256 bit memory bus, GDDR6 memory, 2x8 pin connectors which means 250-300W TDP..which kinda makes it a mid high to high end model. But also with a blower (?!?) cooler input. Could be because of it's an engineering sample but if AMD releases reference Navi with blower cooler again like Vega, well, shit. It is pretty much sure though that Navi will be based on AMD's GCN architecture.

Definitely wait. Even if it is disappointing, you can then buy 2nd gen at lower price tongue.gif
