I donno what your friend did la but my experience with Ryzen has been super rock solid.

I have been using no less than 5 Ryzen models and have been producing videos with Ryzen rig for the past 2 months and absolutely ZERO instability issues.

Oh btw BIOS can really break your board.

My MSI X370 Xpower Gaming Titanium for example was nice for OCing, then last BIOS update was like shit, totally can't OC a thing but luckily I found out this late la.

I flashed the BIOS and didn't do much OC, fortunately when I found out the suck case time there's already a new BIOS. Now it's working fine again.

Saw this issue before. Currently, i faced a weird problem, i failed to pass even cinebench with 3.8ghz, before it works well and pass all cinebench and aida64. I had once pass after yesterday upgrade bios to ver 2.3, but failed after that...

I'm start with 2.0, after got that issues, tried going with 2.2 and current 2.3. From Overclock forum for x370 taichi, there r issue as ram cannot run in clocks setting than the old bios does, and other oc issues as well. Seems other user assume that Asrock Taichi X370 got the worst bios support among X370 mobo currently, even it got better quality than other brand @@

Anyway, lower 200mhz than mostly user with 3.9ghz under 1.35v not really hurt me a lot currently, just need patient than my OSD personality @@

Its nice, i'm looking for better ram as well, but will hold it back until Asrock taichi sadness bios solved. FYI, dun install the Gskill rgb program which possibility may cause brick your ram.

Ya, i'm aware of that. Btw AMD has announced the new Agesa 1.0.0.6 microcode gonna improved ram compatibility issue, lets wait for the new bios & hopefully will solve this culprit.

Finally have time to tweak my new Ryzen 7 system. Spend one week plus to download games, also addicted to Nier Automata wub.gif

Ryzen 7 1700
G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3200
Asrock X370 Killer SLI

Today updated BIOS, then proceed to test my DDR4 sticks, sadly only can reach 2400.
Failed with XMP enabled, increased to 1.375V, SOC voltage to 1.2V ( tried dangerous 1.22V also failed )

CPU overclock also another failure.
4GHz enter Windows, run OCCT few minutes and temperature shoot to 80 degree and auto shut down already. Tried different combination of 3.8GHz 3.7GHz 3.6GHz and different voltage all same, differences are time required to reach 80 degree. 3.4GHz and 3.2GHz stable, but I dont like the temperature, 60-70 degree.

Currently i think Thermaltake produce RGB waterblock (Pacific W4).
For OC with stock cooler need to tune the voltage, i can make mine run at 3.8ghz stable during stress test.

Lazy to tweak voltage since it's too warm to my liking. Stay stock for now since I no complain on performance.

I faced the BSOD(quite frequent) before when i got my r5...
it was due to i install the older version of Win10....before the anniversary edition because that's the only installer i have that time sweat.gif

after that, i download the latest version and no more BSOD icon_idea.gif
(rmb microsoft saying they don't wanna support the new processors on the older OS)

Becareful on using RGB software. It's the best that
you don't use it at the moment until the sort out the problem.
It might gonna corrupt your RAM SPD.
