hey guys. my streamyx snr margin is very unstable and very low, below 10 and i suspect the telephone cable to my house got issue because this is not a new problem to me. tm came to my place to fix the cable twice before,

first time was the wire break due to tree fall down, second time is the repaired wire got water went in. everytime the technician came was just to cut the problem part and connect again and i asked the technician to do new wire but they told me not neccesary.

actually is it possible to request tm to pull a brand new telephone cable into my house to replace the problematic one from their terminal?

Nope. They will charge you kao kao. And you also need to collect evidence to show that it is their cable problem, PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.

that's sad. surprisingly, my line is good during the night, i just checked my snr margin and that numbers are good, only during the day time it drops or fluctuate. wonder why.....

on the other note, how about i subscribe a new phone line, they will pull a new cable right?

want to say a quick thank you for those who attempted to help me with my recent frequent disconnection problems

all solved now.

lesson to learn - many a time it is not a problem on our end (your equipment or config side) but at the DSLAM or TM switch or cable side. So be patient and do a 100 and state your symptoms clearly and follow up with the report no

my area only have a max 1 mbps streamyx.
when i call to TM to request to upgrade to 4mbps. they say need to change some thing which will need to see the demand of those willing to get 4mbps.

any idea to push them to upgrade the port or something?

just report about ur SNR & later ask for rebate. if its due to ur internal wiring, they will advise to "appoint" a contractor, charge around rm80~250

My streamyx speed now is 2mbps. When I asked TM to upgrade my speed to 4mbps, they said it might take up to 11 working days. Is it the case? I thought the upgrade can be done instantly, no?

Should i stick to the Innacomm w7100 as a modem & get a separate router for wifi or just replace it with a better router+modem? So far no problems hitting 4mbps.

I forgot to mention im only eyeing below rm100 tenda modem or router, not sure if i only use the Innacomm as a modem (no wifi) is good enough & separate router.

Tenda has a modem router which support Streamyx. So, you can just directly connect the Tenda modem router instead of using back the Innacomm as a modem.

Its because if i get a separate router, i can get better signal & more futureproof. hmm.gif

You can do that also. But then I think you should take the one which can support UniFi since you say for futureproof.
