My 4mb line got throttled to 2mb for some reason. Contacted TM and they sent a tech who arrived at my place in 15 minutes. He click-click a bit on his laptop and then made a call to KL HQ, issue resolved in 5 minutes.

Probably could have done this over the phone, but I appreciate how quickly they resolved my problem in <30min - usually I'm quite skeptical/cynical about customer service in M'sia, but I have to admit I'm quite impressed haha

I would like to ask something regarding my streamyx line...i recently upgrade to 4mb package from 1mb..

my 1 mb download speed with IDM is around 110-120kbps
after upgrade to 4mb package download speed with IDM is around 210-250kbps

I had read somewhere in the lyn forum that dl speed for 4mb is around 400-500 kpbs...is it true??

Yup, you should get up to 500kB/s with 4mbps connection.

1mbps = 125kB/s
2mbps = 250kB/s
4mbps = 500kB/s

Those are the max speed, but still, 250kB/s for 4mbps package is way too low.
Better make a complaint to them.

If you don't subscribe to Streamyx on a telephone number, you can't get ADSL.

Only if your JB line has been connected to a port.

If I change my streamyx account(512k-rm60-package) in JB to voice-only account, would the port still be connected?

Maybe yes, maybe not. Even if it does, will may only be temporary.
