Still blurr.
If say I have a streamyx 4Mbps account in Melaka and a TM-fixline(voice only) in JB, I can bring my ADSL modem to JB to access internet thru my Melaka's Streamyx account?
*
Only if your JB line has been connected to a port.

If I change my streamyx account(512k-rm60-package) in JB to voice-only account, would the port still be connected?
*
Maybe yes, maybe not. Even if it does, will may only be temporary.

To be safe, I should keep my JB-512k-rm60-streamyx package (vs rm48-voice-only) and apply for the Melaka-4M-rm88-streamyx, so both side can use the fastspeed 4M-streamyx but only one-at-a-time. Is this workable?
*
Yes, but by default the port is capped at 2Mbps only unless you have higher speed subsription. Therefore if you bring you Melaka account there, your speed will be capped at 2Mb, even if your account is capped at 4Mb.

My streamyx now connected to ip address 172.*.*.*.
But the weird thing is cannot use internet. Both my hp and pc shows 'limited connection'. Any idea? It suddenly happened a few hours ago. Rebooting modem a few times, but nothing changes.
*
Some of the TM subnets like (175.145.x.x) has empty routing which will cause you to not be able to get to the Internet. Usually restarting the PPPoE session so that you get another IP from a different block will solve the problem.

Upstream (Kbps): 511
Downstream (Kbps): 2047
SNR Margin - Upstream : 21.9
SNR Margin - Downstream : 27.9
Attenuation - Upstream : 3
Attenuation - Downstream : 5

When using TM speedtest or Speedtest.net, download speed never above 2Mbps, usually around 1.3-1.5Mbps

Tried using TM suggested DNS server also same.

any idea what's wrong?
*
That's because your port is still configured at 2Mb.

QUOTE(Nareen @ Jan 15 2015, 10:48 PM)
guys i recently moves to a new house and went to tmnet directly to applied for streamyx and fortunately i am qualified for the 4mbps plan but during my application to submit it to the staff in charge(tmnet staff) i was told that my application could not be accepted due to tmnet people are migrating their wires/cable or something but confirm they use the word migrating and this thing happen on 09/01 and my application will on be processed on the 19/01. So if any tmnet guys here or anyone experience this problem can help me clarify the term migration for tmnet. Is it they are moving their wire or port or etc to some other place or upgrading their wire in my place. My house is directly inside taiping town not in some rural or outskirt, and not sure where to post this. Thanks
*
The migration mean what you have heard; literally cables moving to one cabinet to another one.
Those who are unfortunate, will find out they lose phone service and internet for an extended amount of time. Up to three weeks in a certain case.

Hi everyone, may I know how can I check whether my area support 4mbps streamyx?
I've been using 1mbps streamyx for 10 years with the same price and I don't have unifi at my area, so can anyone give me any suggestion? The speed is killing me sad.gif
*
best way to do this is to contact an agent (look at Services Noticeboard subforum) and ask if there is coverage.

China's websites are historically always slow from within TM's network. That's why I now have a permanent proxy server for sites like that.

Also find out today, after a couple of hours downtime, that I also got assigned to private IP. A call to the service center is in order now.

Please report back if you ever get it changed back to public IP. (Which is very unlikely now)
I got few colleagues whose streamyx got assigned with private IPV4 address and they were told to use IPV6 by TM.

*
I have already contacted customer support, and as of now, only a report number has been generated, because at their side they see my account still have public IP when the opposite happens.
Let's see if there is any news in the near future or something.

You complain to TM then you got it back?

Yes, I call 100, get a report number, then wait a few days and see it solved.
