QUOTE(tbheng @ Dec 18 2014, 11:05 AM) I opened my account back in Jan 2013. I have checked my record, yes I did pay for RM8 for the card as I need internet banking. There are no recurring charges until now. For new opening Mach money box account, does we require to retain RM 200 as opening balance? Subsequent month will deduct RM 8 for the debit card? |

I have a 3.7%/pa with affin. If I withdraw early, do I need to pay penalty? Or they will just give me 3 months+ intereset profit?
Thank you |

I noticed that this is the 2nd time you're asking this question, with no one replying you the first time you asked. I think it would be a lot faster for you to just give them a call and ask this question. Thank you |

I deposited 50 and 8 was deducted immediately. But that was almost 2 years back. You may call CS to ask what are the current requirements. |

Thank you my guess is you might get half of the contracted rate if you have held it with them for minimum x mths. Not very helpful, I know pls update us what they say. TQ |

But since I want to remove, I only will get RM62. Decided not to remove. Not worth it.my guess is you might get half of the contracted rate if you have held it with them for minimum x mths. Not worth it. What interest rate do you get on the savings acct? Also for affin 4.38%, if it falls on public holiday/weekend, the system will automatically uplift into your savings account. At current 1yr rates, you only get additional rm40-50 per 10K, vs that rm120+ lost on premature w/drawal. Wise decision! Seems Affin give you less than 50% of contracted rate or even 50% of 6mth rate? Assuming 6 mth rate 3%, 50% of 6mth rate gets u rm75 btw, congrats to all the RP/OCBC winners!!! Some interesting reading... heard over that progressive radio station the other day about ruble n rupiah recent woes. Made me think 2R's - hope never go down in history as 3R's

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Dec 17 2014, 11:14 AM) What you guys talking about I missed it BUT which bank pays you interest on maturity day? System only update from 10.30pm onwards (varies from bank to bank) and if money already withdraw how to pay interest on maturity day? I.e. system shows ZERO balance on that date. Captain, for the cheque clearance, it is a non-issue and we are clear on this for UOB and most banks. The question to ask is - is interest calculated from the day you place your FD even if your cheque is not cleared - for UOB YES! Ah Boom was saying UOB not giving interest on maturity day. I told him UOB give interest for 365 days, he was thinking only 364 days (12 mth FD, with maturity falling on working day, non leap year, ha ha). Based on my check, UOB pays full 365 days. Even if it falls on Sat, UOB will adj to next working day and pay the extra days' interest. Exceptions are SCB and other banks. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Dec 19 2014, 09:52 AM |
