Anybody knows whether StanChart allows FD withdrawal from other branch? So far know that Maybank and Hong Leong do not allow withdrawal other than the branch where FD is opened.

Just an update on post #2, there's no 3-month 3.65% promotion in Affin, the staff only showed 3.3% board rate..
The BSN 1-year 3.95% offer has a 15% CASA requirement

For me BR waived the RM2 IBG fee for FD+int. transfer to another bank since they don't issue banker's cheque.

Today went to RHB and found out that the 15-mth step up promotion has closed from 1-Oct.

Uplifted my 3-mth FD with BR (after 2 time of renewal) and didn't notice they adjust the maturity date by 1 day later (for BR whenever maturity date falls on a holiday they will auto adjust the new maturity date to the next working day)...
I only realized after signing all the withdrawal and IBG forms...and they refused to change saying that the money already transferred to the destination bank.. end up losing interests for premature withdrawal by 1 day!!!

Painful lesson.. anyone has similar experiences before?

I am pissed off that the BR staff never reminded me of the new maturity date..

Ok, agreed 3 months not as bad as 1 year..

I think to prevent future mistake it's better to ask the bank to update the certs for each renewal cycle to see any adjustment of maturity date. Own assumptions could be dangerous..

No.. the cert was not updated for 2 renewal cycles.. only the 1st maturity stated on the cert (the instruction is auto renew).

tried to place maybank 3.87% 3mth promo but was told to deposit the personal cheque for it to clear before can apply for FD placement.

Looks like CIMB+RHB+MBSB merger is going ahead.. no wonder Maybank trying to attract money from these 3..

Was at maybank islamic.. both 3-mth 3.87% and 12-mth 4% upfront are closed. But there is a new 2-month effective 3.5% FD promo

Did you transfer out the money to other bank before placing the 4% 12-mth upfront promotion?
