QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Sep 18 2014, 08:47 PM) But most of the time I will lie to them by saying that I want to buy a car for down payment.. Should tell them others are offering me better rates. That way, they might up their rates in the future. In the end, we win. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Sep 18 2014, 09:03 PM |

Sifus, say if I got fd in bank x. But then when I want to put another fd in bank x, can I request for same account no as my previous fd cert?
Eg, previous fd account 1234567899 new fd account 987654321 Can I ask that my new cert also follow 123456789? As fasr as I know, hong leong does that. If you previously opened a fd account with them, your subsequent account no will be same as your first cert. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Oct 14 2014, 08:08 PM |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Oct 14 2014, 08:11 PM) Usually, you will only have one FD Account Number with a bank. But everytime you place a new FD, you will get a new Receipt Number. But for each cert they printed the account is different (affin, scb) except HLB. HLB all same no. (eg 123456789) So no, I dont have new account no with HLB.As for HLB, you may have been assigned a new Account Number because they upgraded their system (last upgrade was when they merged with EON). One of my HLB savings book (very old book which I hardly use) has 3 Accounts Number (2 updated with handwriting) and sometimes the teller also blur. My question is can I ask affin and scb to do the same like HLB? Print same account no on my next fd? |

Cause my parents making will. And they do not want to pay lawyer anymore if place new fd (you need to pay lawyer to update the will)
So if they put new fd in say scb, scb will give them new cert with new account no. So if they update the will with the new fd, they need to pay lawyer. That is why they want to know if they can get all same account no from the same bank. That way, no need to pay lawyer. |

Gen-x sir,
You didn't reply my question yet. Although it is off topic. Can I used ASG/FD to apply for Maybank 2 Gold card? I am not working yet (studying) but I can use those cards to earn money after reading your post rather than using cash In ASG and FD, I have >RM50k |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Oct 22 2014, 06:20 PM) As a principal card holder? Only way without income is to pledge FD. Yeah. I would like to apply for Maybank2 Gold card but seeing that I am not working yet = no income proofMaybank offer 1 to 1 ratio of FD amount you pledge : Credit Limit. But I have my FD and ASG which shows money of >RM50k. Can that be use? |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Oct 22 2014, 06:43 PM) your fd need to be deposit to mbb at board rate. the amount u pledge is equal to your credit limit. you need to write in to mbb card center to put in this request they will then send you a letter whether approve or not. My FD certs are all over the place except at MBB. I don't have any FD in MBB. All I have is M2U accountwith this letter you can go to any mbb branch and put in your fd per amount stated in offer letter. they will also let you sign an agreement to offset any outstanding with your fd if you fail to pay (i did not read the details so pls find out yourself). also pay rm10 for stamp duty. i have tried to apply by showing off (fd certs and etc) but was rejected so i dont think it will work for you either. the whole point is mbb need smtg in hand before they grant you the card. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Oct 22 2014, 06:54 PM) Bro, firstly, how old are you? Captain Gen-X,23 actually. But I have been saving since small and read your article, I feel better to use Maybank 2 card than cash. At least can earn something back. Thought you know all about credit cards. Cause I read before on how you apply your cards without working. I think I will try at Midvalley and see if they approve or not. If they don't approve, assume it is just window shopping. |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Oct 22 2014, 07:58 PM) to get mbb2card gold i dont think you need ten of thousand. a few k will do. Say I depoist RM20k, in mbb. They approve my card. Can I uplift the RM20k and put some where else? Or that FD cannot be uplifted? I have done previous online transcation for a while (2 years +) using my debit card. Can I used that to support my credit reputation?my advice: 1. deposit x amount at mbb over counter for 12m with board rate (3.3%) 2. write a letter to mbb card division, offer to pledge your fd of x amount to get mbb2card QUOTE(Gen-X @ Oct 22 2014, 07:15 PM) Just go ask your parents apply for the MBB 2 Cards and supp to you They don't believe people will give you free money. They believe that there is a catch some where despite me telling them about your blog. "They say he rich man can apply for ccredit card. You normal people, don't need to apply for credit card." Even my whole family old school thoughts. Don't believe in credit cards except me. Ask my sister to apply for it so I can do my online purchse, She shouted at me "Think I so free to log into M2U to pay for petrol and grocessaries everyday is it?!" Besides, if they apply for the card, they need to pay GST RM150. Not worth. At least, if I apply, I just need to pay RM100. Can save RM50. That is why I figured better to do it myself than depend on people. Lead by example. Show them that credit card can earn you some money. Really sad they using cash. For those who got eyesight problem, there is this program call Dragon Naturally Speaking. You can ask it to type your email, search for you, type word files and other stuff but I am sure it only understand American English/British English. According to the program, it will learn your language over time.
I am sure it cannot understand out Malaysian English |

Want to ask, since UOB promo is 4% with min RM10k
If I put that one, after one year, if there is promo again with min RM10k say 4.2%, will my FD will be renew to that promo rate at 4.2% or will it be renew at board rate eventhough I am eligible for the promo rate? |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Oct 23 2014, 12:06 PM) Bro, I am surprised you asked this question when you know about your mum needing fresh fund to get HLB Promo, And if you had read Post#1, I already specified to be eligible for the UOB promo, minimum RM10K fresh fund. Hi Gen-X,But I am giving you the benefit of doubt you not playing with us - if you instruct when placing the RM10K (promo rate say 4.%) to be renewed upon maturity, it will be renewed at board rates and you are not eligible for the promo rate because it's not fresh fund. Going a step further, OCBC does offer promo interest rate higher than board rate for maturing FD, i.e. no need fresh fund. However, you still need to go to the bank and sign up for the promo or else it will automatically get board rates. My mum doesn't need fresh fund for HLB. I just asked about the fresh funds (withdraw cash and come back the next day) cause it happened 1-2 years ago. I asking about UOB promo because maybe my sister is interested. And I am not sure whether they will auto-renew at board rate or auto-renew at promo rate upon maturity. So it would seems that to be eligible for promo rate, I need to go to bank upon maturity and uplift it. By the way, How do you put a box around the person's name (like summoning the person here)?
