European stocks dropped for an eighth day in the longest rout since 2003, oil fell toward $80 a barrel and Treasuries rose on concern global growth is slowing. Bonds from Greece to Spain slid while the dollar strengthened.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Index (BCOM) lost 1.5 percent at 10:30 a.m. in London after dropping 3.2 percent yesterday. Standard & Poor’s 500 Index futures declined 0.4 percent. West Texas Intermediate crude slid 1.5 percent to $80.55, dragging a gauge of commodities to a five-year low. Ten-year Treasuries advanced for an eighth day, the longest winning streak in two years. The yield on similar-maturity Greek bonds jumped 81 basis points and Spain’s yield increased 21 basis points. The dollar gained 0.3 percent to $1.2794 per euro.
