Btw, Mi3 support usb on the go. U can buy 1 of those pendrive with dual port, 1 side normal usb, 1 side micro usb, so u can plug into ur phone and use it as a pendrive on ur Mi3.

It's better to buy a OTG cable for a few ringgit. You can still plug in regular thumbdrives, and also mice, keyboard, etc. More uses. Disadvantage is you'll have to carry the cable around...

not sure bout diz, nid to ask the 3rd party shop that is selling the AP set. Coz AP set is warranty by the phone shop.

If it's a well known AP company, they have their own service center as well, and you can bypass the original phone shop. Eg. Brandstar.

Bro, seems like you're the flashing gurus here eh.
Can you advise if we would flash different ROM on the phone, would it affect the photo quality of the camera?
Maybe. Photo quality is determined by hardware and software. Even though the hardware is the same, once you flash another ROM, photo quality may change. Example: Galaxy S4 flash to MIUI will still retain same photo quality (AFAIK) because it uses the stock camera. Flashing to AOSP based ROMs will hurt the photo quality because they use stock Android camera.
Here, MIUI for your targeted G2:

Hye guys, I'm planning on purchasing a samsung galaxy phone. Either 5 or Alpha
I'm just a regular user, not into rooting and all that sorts of modding.
I don't mind much about the specs, but more on the looks and size of the phone

Now, the question is, how does the samsung's track record on updating its phone throughout the years?
I don't expect fast update like Nexus series, but as long as it gets the latest android version once google announce their latest software, then its fine by me
The reason I'm choosing samsung is i want to try new things, the hardware is tempting, not sure about the software though. Hope you guys can shed some knowledge regarding this, thank you so much

Go to
http://www.sammobile.com and search for firmwares for previous Samsung phones to have an idea of upgrades. Example (not conclusive as most models have not reached EOL):
Galaxy S3 from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 to 4.3
Galaxy S4 from 4.2.2 to 4.3 to 4.4.2
Galaxy Note 2 from 4.1.2 to 4.3 to 4.4.2
Galaxy Note 3 from 4.3 to 4.4.2
