Yes, I still shoot film, on & off though and using expired 35mm. The prices of new negatives are getting expensive by the day. Currently I am using Yashica GSN, Pentax MX (yet to start shooting with it) and its brother, the Pentax ME super which has a dedicated "Auto" option on the main dial. Not shooting enough yet coz doesn't have much time nowadays.

I long time dint shoot film liao, this one i ask my friend bought from japang and only manage to shoot one roll and i ask to be cross processed, turns out ok. but some pic got light leak and some picture oof, i dun have skill handle this.

Film looks like dying liow. All hardcore sifus sudah lari. I bought 5 rolls 120 Kodak 160 for about 50 linggit in 2011. (Still got 3 rolls. Me camera fondler, not hardcore shooter. ) Now maybe 5 packs 120 close to 90 linggit? Anybody got price info? One roll 35mm colorfilm how much?

Youre quoting 2005 price issit? Where can get 120 at Rm 12.50 even for black/white let alone color? Cheapest black and white I found is Shanghai GP3 prolly around Rm14 (Ebay). Color about 18 and up (Russian film or east european film I dunno). Anyway I just asked one or two shops and looked at Ebay.

If there is shop selling 120 at Rm 12.50 I want to know.

I like 120 now coz its only 12 shots. Got chance to finish the roll and cuci. 35mm with 36 exposure, usually end up stuck inside camera dunno how long. One month, two months also cannot finish, sometimes dunno wat to shoot oledi.

Oh true true, dunno how long to finish one roll 35mm . But because i want to learn from basic so usually i just test shot macam-macam but i wrote down each frame i took because i wan2 know what it looks like with different setting on each shot on my camera.

The white area blank very distracting , One thing I learn from this pic is that if the light is right and my shutter speed is right, I can get the focus right. Most of the time, me do camerashake, or mis focus.

I shall try their RM6 scanning too. BangBangGang RM16 per roll.

Previously i checked their film price was difference, maybe because of new owner took over oredi. You can call them up to double check on their scanning price. Never heard of BangBangGang but i heard some reasonable price from FotoMega Desa Setapak.

Does anyone know where in Selangor got kedai selling old Nikon slr camera accessories like lens cap or body F-mount cap. My camera don't have body cap so lots of dust built up inside the mirror and view finder. Now temporary solution i just locked on the reverse ring and screw the ND filter on it.

If you look at right and bottom of the sign "U3", you see all white. Overexposed until see blank. Maybe I screw up my pp. Or I have to do some dodging/masking which I'm just too lazy to do.

Anyway, I just put in Gimp, clik here click there until looks nice, crop and post. Can't remember what I did now.

Oh u meant the white patch under the right bottom? I didn't see that until you mentioned haha. But overall the object looks sharp to me. I thot u said the reflection on the signboard pulak.

nice pics! i just got myself a tlr, but having difficulty to find 120 film.

after got married and having a son, I slowly leaved my hobby to shoot film..maybe for a while..still love to shoot film using my toy camera Holga 120..film stock still got in the fridge..haha..

haha... remember to shoot once in a while so the lense wont got fungus.

Wah!! Wat TLR you get?

My TLR (Cord V) so difficult to focus. So dim. Plus the left becomes right ... wah ... problem. In the end all my subject in the middle one. Subjects all lifeless, like tiang, batu, kerusi ... if got life sure gone run away by the time I get it to focus. Put subject to side a bit, cannot see oledi, so dim .

Anyways, film prices have shot up. Now close to 20 linggit per roll not including process . Lucky I bought a 5 roll pack in 2011. Almost finish liow .




f8 and be there. Screw focusing!! . Also, Pak Aji Wak walk very slow. Still in frame. Still some parts highlight blown.




a bit blurry. Dark, ran out of shutter speed. Had to do one round of unsharp mask. Cigarette blown. Whitish marks at border are emulsion scratches. Always have problem loading Ilford onto reel, dunno why.

ShangHai 4 is the earlier product before it's rebranded as Seagull 4. The one i got is the original version with three-element cooke triplet lenses. Heard later versions with Tessar lenses have better bokeh though. However i very happy already cause finally got my first medium format camera.

Hi, anyone or your friend/acquaintance looking for classic vintage film from the 1950's? I have a Zeiss Pentacon ZI with a carl zeiss tessar red t 13-blades aperture 50/2.8 and I have put up a sale thread in the digital camera section. The Zeiss 13-blades tessar can do exactly that too. I have tried it on my Ep3 and the bokeh is so creamy and dreamy ha ha.. real unique lens.

Linhof? You want to fondle or take pictures? If fondle, then German (or Swiss) cameras are the best to fondle . If take pictures, then better spend less on camera more for film/developing . Most LF cameras are basically just a box, meaning no funky timing gear mechanism, no shutter, springs etc. Hmm ... come to think of it, what kind of fondling you can do with a Linhof ah? (I dun have any Linhof.) Maybe open and close, raise and lower drawbridge? Don't think Linhof have trigger button to hear thwack of mighty big of mirror.

i think mostly fondle, hahahahha

indeed... this 35mm shot was taken using Praktica slr. self scanned with Epson V500. should hv use filter in order to capture the details of sky.

but i have more than 12 rolls left in cold storage and i am keen to burn my rolls with some nice light.

i sent mine to Leos ampang point, Esix and colordotcom before...both are disastrous experience.I'm a newbie in film n those experience nearly scare me away from film.Imagine that u need to spend the money to buy film, to send your film to develop and collection of scan copy,only then u found out the scan quality really sucks.I sending my 2 rolls to bang bang gang to try out, if all the same, must well i give up.

But it just probably me or due to my camera format.Cheers.

Ok, about the battery. The original battery from its time were no longer produced since they are mercury-based. The replacement I have found is from a few sources. You can check them out below:

1. DIY Yashica GX battery

2. PX640

3. eBay adapters

The best is PX640, they maybe a bit expensive but in the long run, its the easiest

Hi guys, should i be worried about oil on the aperture blades in my tlr. Not too much, but just on the parts where the blades sliding against each other.

On a TLR, since you are looking/composing via the top lens, the aperture is not doing much compared to aperture on a SLR. Aperture can be at whatever setting since you're not looking through the taking lens. So I don't think its a big problem.

Shutter on the other hand has to open and close each time you take a picture. Perhaps you're seeing oil on the shutter blades instead of aperture blade?

It is the aperture, just underneath the shutter blade but not connected mechanism. I have seen it when i used bulb mode or view from the film compartment. Anyway, that's how I am comforting myself for not affecting anything. Some [slash]bad[/slash] helpful guys in APUG saying that it could lead to haze or splatter to lense, if that is the worst case. That's what I am worried about. Well, what can I do for now is let it sit. if things come to worst, I might just disassemble the lense and clean in from there using q-tips or send it for CLA.

What TLR model is it?

If Rolleiflex 2.8, then worry lorr ... expensive camera, expensive repair . If some other brand, maybe you will have courage to DIY. I think can unscrew the rear element . Safer if have the correct lens spanner.

Worse case scenario, shoot wide open with black and white film. Haze can become "glow".

i recently just restored a tlr myself. (no choice, i cant find any camera shop that still offer such repair service in my area). Now my tlr is fully functional. If the tlr is not a luxury or collector model, suggest u hv a try for it.
However, before u start, must do some research on it. Search online from other forum, the explode view of the camera, camera's manual...etc will help u alot.

As for your aperture blade oil, is it affect the aperture blade open and closing mechanism? If the aperture blade still snappy, then it is no big deal. If you really need to diy service, open the tlr, and clean using lighter fluid gently. Do not use force to open any parts.

A rolleiflex it is. I am a fan of rolleiflex and collect a couple of 35mm and 120 rollei models. Things got better when I leave it it wide open and placed in my box overnight. A part of it dried up. I guess I am just over reacting.

i agree with the guts... last time i struggled for 1 whole week before i removed the first screw... after that you will go through it. yes... my tlr is working fully now. although it is not a rollei, but i'm having great fun and satisfaction during the process of restoring it. however still no time for shootout.

What kind of smell? If cigarette it is really hard to remove. I purchased a used lightmeter from a smoker before and it smells bad. i used alcohol swap to clean it several times and air in for a couple of days. Be careful using alcohol on leather / rubber surfaces as the reaction might dried them up. Leave it for a couple of days and see if it still smells. One method i used on my lightmeter is to lock it in a sealed box with ground coffee.

OT: Do you guys have any compilation of photolabs that does film scanning with sophisticated scanners? It would be really helpful. One of the photolab that I know of using plustek 120. Looking for a better one. Those with hasselblad, noritsu, drum etc could be really helpful.

Want to know a few things:

1. Best places in KL to buy/order online (all 35mm) Kodak Ektar 100, Kodak Portra 400, Kodak Portra 800, Fuji Superia 800 at good reasonable prices.

2. Anywhere that sells Fuji Superia 800, haven't seen it sold anywhere in this country.

3. Is it a good idea to buy a Pentax K1000 because I'm worried I wont be able to find lenses for it, at least at reasonable prices.

hello... Dont know whether will help you, but for the films, normal film can buy at local shops. For special films you might need to buy online, or search from taobao or ebay.

For the camera, Pentax K1000 is a good camera. The Pentax K mount lenses you can use on pentax dslr directly, or other dslr with proper adapter. You can easily find good old manual lenses from ebay at very reasonable price. Hope this help. Also other sifus please correct me if got mistake or addon.
