Hello.

I'm interested to get back into film photography. I used to take photos when I was a kid 14 years ago. Now I work in some sort of heritage conservation work, which I need some really good photo to get the ornamental features, engravings, and especially color. Simply my phone photo isn't the best option right now, and getting a DSLR needs a fortune to get into, and I'm scared if even low end DSLR can't give me the best quality I wanted.

How expensive the photo rolls nowadays, last time it was like 10 ringgit a roll now it's getting to nearly 30 ringgit a pop when I look up online. And are camera shops do development service? How expensive are their services? Should I learn how to develop myself or send the rolls to shops?

Short answer - best not to use film for work.

Self develop film only makes sense for black and white. Unless you do a whole lot of color. The problem is shelf life of the chemicals.

Thank you for the reply. I guess I had to invest money in DSLR or a good point and shoot I guess. nod.gif

Maybe I jump in film later as a hobby.
