Yeah, seems they’ve closed the site for disinfection. Wonder how this will impact progress..

Yea... not sure if the construction gonna resume immediately given that 85.1% of the workers are infected, which would be quarantined at least 2 weeks before they are discharged and fit for work. In any way, hope the welfare of the workers are taken care of...

"KUALA LUMPUR – Seramai 482 individu daripada Kluster Tapak Bina Awan Baru membabitkan pekerja pembinaan di daerah Kepong dan Bandar Baru Sentul telah menjalani ujian saringan Covid-19 sehingga jam 8 malam semalam. Daripada jumlah itu, sebanyak 410 kes, atau 85.1 peratus, dilaporkan positif daripada kluster baharu itu. Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah berkata, penilaian risiko dan pengesanan kontak rapat di kawasan tapak bina dan kawasan sekitar tempat kerja telah dijalankan oleh Pejabat Kesihatan Kepong sejak kelmarin.

“Tapak bina ini telah ditutup di bawah seksyen 18 (1) (f) Akta Pencegahan dan Pengawalan Penyakit Berjangkit 1988 (Akta 342) pada 27 November 2020 bagi tujuan pembersihan dan disinfeksi. Tenaga kerja adalah merupakan aset berharga bagi sesebuah syarikat mahupun organisasi. Ini termasuklah pekerja warganegara mahu pun bukan warganegara,” katanya laman Facebook beliau hari ini.

Menurutnya Dr. Noor Hisham, terdapat beberapa faktor yang menyumbang kepada penularan penyakit berjangkit dalam kalangan pekerja membabitkan tempat penginapan, kebersihan kendiri dan persekitaran tempat tinggal serta tempat kerja. Berikutan itu beliau meminta majikan memainkan peranan lebih besar dalam sama-sama mengekang penularan virus tersebut. Ujarnya, selaras dengan Akta Standard Minimum Perumahan dan Kemudahan Pekerja 1990 (Akta 446), masalah penginapan pekerja warga asing yang sempit dan sesak perlu ditangani segera bagi memastikan ianya tidak menjadi punca penularan jangkitan COVID-19 dan lain-lain penyakit berjangkit.

“Sehubungan itu, KKM menyambut baik tindakan penguatkuasaan Akta 446 ini oleh pihak Kementerian Sumber Manusia ke atas pihak majikan yang gagal mematuhi ketetapan akta tersebut,” katanya. – MalaysiaGazette"

2) 1st time I see DG visit construction site, this must be serious. with the situation of foreign labours this year + the covid rise in construction areas.
there's no denying that workers living condition have been in dire situation and exploid for years.
3) wonder what ministry of HR/ housing is doing on these matters? not much noise is heard. function ke tak diorg ni sweat.gif

Singapore isn't much different than us regarding the treatment of foreign workers, and their Covid-19 dormitory crisis started much earlier (BBC link, CNA Link). In fact, if Covid didn't happen, I'd bet the majority of people here and across the Straits wouldn't be aware of the workers' living conditions.

This problem was already highlighted by RPK (link) along with a few other previous articles highlighting our hunger for foreign workers (legal or otherwise). It is not only the fault of the HR ministry but also the business community that want cheap labour, which gave rise to this situation. Apparently, I'm not surprised if the situation is the same in Singapore.

I do agree that the HR ministry should take the first step to address this, but this also requires a change of mindset among the business community and the public at large.

Since skymeridien's microsite has yet to upload latest photos of construction progress, i paid a quick visit and seems like the construction has resumed but not sure at partial or full capacity.

Still got unit left. But i think now is selling fast . Developer chip in very good deal.

MRT 3 project might get green light as well. See the news. 1 station is reportedly to be interchange with sentul timur LRT. Hope it materialised.

Yeah it has a very good location. Don't understand why it is not selling well too, probably it has something to do with the surroundings?

surround with low cost flat , the location is near to LRT but surrounding is condition very bad .... u can see illegal shop surrounding there ..

Developer subsidise installment for 2 - 3 years depending on unit size.
The agent told me for type A, C,D 3 years subsidy around 800- 1500 monthly.
Type B 800 monthly for 2 years.

But price i think a bit high. Around 550 psqft for mid floor. Dontknow if it worth to buy
