Just saw in Dell web site and there is a model of 5480 came with touch screen. But lower spec: Powered by Windows 8.1 Single Language, 5th Generation Intel® Core i5-5200U Processor, 4GB memory, 500GB hybrid hard drive & touch enable.

U go Dell website u will see warning for those who buy from lazada...

I saw that too. So I will deal by COD if I'm buying from lazada. Price really attractive.

Will dell honour the warranty if I buy from lazada? Is it possible to buy extend warranty once I brought from lazada?

Came back here for more advice. Previous advice was 10/10.

Now looking for a friend

Brand : Any

Budget : < RM2k

Usage : movies, no gaming, MS Office, other light tasks

Additional info : Not laggy (so 8GB RAM?), good warranty coverage, form factor will be a plus point (a girl)

Screen size : 13"

Hi, appreciate anyone's advice on the following, can you suggest 5 to choose from? If the requirements are unrealistic, please advice too. Thanks much!

1. Preferred Brand:

Whichever brand that is best for reliability and hassle-free warranty in case anything happens.

2. Budget:

Between RM1,800 - RM2,500. Just an estimate range, preference for being as cheap as possible for the following usage.

3. Usage:

Mostly MSOffice PPT and Excel (max working file size 100MB), browsing, watching DVDs, and video streaming

Light usage of Adobe Illustrator. Occasional game like L4D, nothing too resource consuming.

I guess 8GB RAM is sufficient? Also minimum 4 hrs battery life.

4. Preferred laptop/screen size:

Size as thin as possible but adhering to budget. Screen to be between 14.5" to 15.6".

Hey Timelesss,

For that price range your friend can only consider the MSI GP series. Heard from dealers that all their lower range also updated with the new 950M and 940M GPU from Nvidia. Good value for money. Should go to the shop and check it out since their FB page also no news with the new booklet.

Good luck and happy shopping! icon_rolleyes.gif

not sure where to ask

between acer iconia 8 w and lenovo miix 2 8, which will be much worth and (maybe) futureproof (win10?)

need: portable tablet for productivity (word/excel/powerpoint) thesis/report for phd, good battery life. windows only. no android (already have nexus 7 2012)

price wise: iconia rm499 vs lenovo miix 2 8 rm999

already have aspire s7 and mba 13 for proper laptop.
tq
any suggestions are welcomed.

Dear Sifus sekalian, need recommendation for laptop used for architecture purposes.

1. Preferred Brand

Any brand will do. Don't believe any specific brand is better rather its a hit-and-miss.

2. Budget

Within RM4000. Preferably just slightly above RM3000 but if RM4000 is what needed to get something good enough then let it be.

3. Usage

3D, Rendering, Animation, CAD

4. Preferred laptop/screen size

15-17 inch

Been looking into Illegears and MSI because they say gaming laptops always has the highest specs but I am not really sure if the specs for gaming laptop is relevant to the specs for an architecture laptop or not. Any experienced architect to give some advice?

Thanks! Been looking at the Illegear Z5 recently and it seems like the best specs among the RM4k tier laptops and have lots of good reviews. Just wondering if I could get something at RM3k - RM3.5k with lower specs but still sufficient for architecture. Saving that few hundred RM means a lot to me sad.gif

hmm ok I understand that. I was just wondering if getting the Z5 would be an overkill or not or maybe there is no need to spend that much but still able to get my work done. Thanks so much for you advice smile.gif
