Just asked Dell's support, all of their Vostro/Inspiron/Latitude laptops only fits half height mSATA SSDs... shocking.gif

Where's the Linux option in the website above? hmm.gif

Anyway, is there any laptops that allow me to fit a full sized mSATA SSD? Since I wanted to have a SSD+HDD combination and I don't really want to go with the optical drive caddy option which most likely voids the warranty. sweat.gif

it seems the Z50-70 i5 and the flex 2-14 have almost the same specs (except flex has touch screen and Z50-70 has double the HDD space)

wondering what is the reason that you recommend the flex over the z50? sorry, paranoid buyer-to-be here happy.gif

If you go for the Z50, you can use remaining budget to upgrade to 8GB RAM and also swap the HDD for an SSD icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks sifu for the fast response. Did a quick research and found that lenovo flex 2 has slightly lower battery life.

Apart from the lenovo, is there any model that you would recommend me. Was thinking about hp pavilion for instance.

Thanks again in advance

Unfortunately you can't get great performance, portability and good battery lives at the same time, not with a 15" notebook at the price range sad.gif
You could consider these as well but the specs are more or less similar, so the battery lives won't be very much different:
15.6"
HP
Pavilion 15-p036TX, i7-4510U + Nvidia 840M@RM2499[BeatsAudio], 8GB, 1TB, freeDOS; W8.1@RM2699

Toshiba
Satelite L50-B203BX/GX, i5-4200U + AMD R7-M260@RM2399[Onkyo], 4GB, 1TB, W8.1; colors: black/gold

*Prices in RRP

Some more these do not have FullHD screens as the Flex 2-15 and Z50-70 do icon_rolleyes.gif
