i checked y410. It seems like y410 is using m2 instead of msata, which is still quite expensive around...
I am currently looking at flex 2-14 or z50, but wonder if 840m and survive for another 2-3 yrs

MIght be hard to find since they are old models, but since they come with Mobile processors, its worth the look.

Upgrade to at least 8GB RAM. Use remaining budget to put in a 128/256GB SSD (~RM300-700), that will help boost performance ALOT

Is it msi GP60 and Lenovo Y410P recommended？There are out of budget of course……
