I think maybank knows that when they downgraded the features of this card, they will just loose customers...
*
this question is in their mind prior decision

if they downgrade it, that's mean they don't actually care much

You can call in to CS to redeem. Thats what i do all the while. Its calculated based on every 40k points for RM100 cashback.

Do you mind sharing total spend excluding the balance transfers? What BT plan did you sign up for? The recent 1% promo? I didn't know BT is counted as part of the RM50k spending requirement. Last year mine was automatically waived too because I paid all my property service charges and insurance on this card and hit about 75k. However this year I transferred everything to HLB Fortune, and don't think I can even hit RM10k. Thanks in advance.

Under RM500 for petrol and groceries every month with a few 0% 12 months EPP. Probably less than 15K/year.

When I signed up, I maxed out the 0% 12 months BT promotion so I didn't really want to use the card for retail purchases unless its 0% 12 months EPP/Maybank discounts, to save credit limit. My other cards have better cash rebates.

No one knows whether BT was considered spending but when I called up CS several times to check my total spending, I noted that they(people from MBB CS) always quoted my statement amount as my spending including BT.

Anyway it's all guesswork, things in MBB might change internally without notice.

Thanks for your very very detailed sharing.

I think I'll just give up my Maybank VS this year. I also use about RM500 per month on petrol and groceries, but I've got other CB cards to deal with groceries, and can always get Ikhwan for petrol and just manage timing better.

It was good while it lasted! But without any benefits apart from the 5% cashback, its hard to justify holding on to this card.

4k can be redeemed against cash vouchers for Tesco, Parkson, Aeon, etc from the card center directly.

I see. I thought I already informed the CS at the counter, maybe I was not clear enough when I ask "why is it still appearing in the system". Maybe their reply was "it will take some time before it is removed from the system".
