Contacted CS just now requested to waive the annual fee. Reclined by the CS and I directly request to cancel the card but was told by the CS there was outstanding balance and I cannot pay the outstanding balance via M2U once they cancel the card. I need go to MBB branch or pay via ATM machine which a bit hassle to me. I told her ok and I'll call again to cancel the card after I've clear all the outstanding balance. Did a quick login to M2U and pay the outstanding amount. Called CS again and different person served me this time and she asked me the reason I request to cancel the card. Gave the reason waive was not approved just now and I not going to use if I need to pay for the annual fee. She put me on hold and came back agree to waive for me one more year

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Sep 16 2016, 06:29 AM) First year free ma. QUOTE(tonytyk @ Sep 16 2016, 09:13 AM) Go for it, 1st year annual fee is free. Some more no minimum spending requirement for 5% cash back for petrol and grocery, cap of RM88 Yeah, that's what I thought too. No commitment and can cancel after 1 year. Too bad it has removed PPL access... |

Hi vin_ann, good morning. Generally the annual fee is FREE for the first year. Subsequent years would be FREE if you spend a min of RM50, 000 and above per annum. Further details of the charges will be available online via Maybank2u or quick balance once the annual fee imposed to your account. Once the annual fee billed on your credit card statement, the due date would be Twenty (20) days from the Closing Date of Billing Period appearing in the monthly statement of account.
This is what I got reply from MyMaybank via DM over Twitter. |

Just applied this card via online and it says "it is approved by principle". Well, let's hope for the best that it will be officially approved.

I applied mine via M2U too, approved and received the card in 1 week +. Add on: We have reviewed your application, regrettably your application is unsuccessful. |
