maybank is well known to ghost old cards in their maybank2u website for a long time....mine was left there for years, until one day the Private Banking officer also saw it and removed it...

VS is still good for cash back for petrol and groceries...but since i cannot spend enough on petrol and groceries for af waiver, no point...

that's the problem...information are not clearly phrased, and staffs not correctly briefed....

i called the cs a couple of months ago, to clarify the treatpoints earned for overseas transaction, even if it were for education...and the agent says only 1 point since it is education....

i escalated it to private banking officer, and after verification with card centre, confirmed it's still 5 points, as long as billed in foreign currency...and that is factual, as my fees payment last month is invoiced with full 5 points...

Legacy cards tend to remain in maybank2u, as somehow the system doesn't automatically remove defunct cards...And unlike other banking portals, m2u does not allow self housekeeping of accounts and cards...

To know if your card is really cancelled, call again to verify...

After they downgraded the perks, the vs programme is dying...

They should allow self management of accounts presentation, so customers can decide which to capture and which to delete from presentation....

Overseas banks allow that, as does rhb now....

points are only given for spendings....ie money leaving the cc account....not going in...

I think maybank knows that when they downgraded the features of this card, they will just loose customers...

Just like rhb and their platinum cards....charging af when they don't their signature/world cards....
