the 5x free PPL access is following card year (from activation date ) or annual year (1-31dec)?

Per calendar year, so from 1st Jan to Dec 31. However, it was revised on 1st July, beforr that still unlimited, after that will be 5 times.

When 1st Jan 2016 comes will be refreshed with 5x for each card.

just try my luck by getting this card by calling the pre approved credit card number..

i can see the visa signature in my maybank2u today..

now, i have 3 cards (m2c, ikhwan and signature)

as long as spending in oversea currency...

this card exist more than 1 year...

I believe it has been revised back to 50k now, the 30k was all but a brief period of a few weeks.

Not sure if those that got approved during that period will follow 30k or 50k requirement lol

Well, that's why don't simply a card without checking all the benefits.
With my pay, I can easily get Maybank 2 Cards Premier without problem, still I don't bother to apply for it since I won't be spending that much and the benefits don't suit me.
