Yes it is sufficient.
Although for food photography, spending resources(time and equipment) on the lighting is also important.

Hello sifu-sifu,
I'll be going to Korea for a vacation and the camera bag I have is the original one from Canon. Since its going to be snowing in Korea at the end of the year so I'm just wondering if the original bag is suitable for that kind of weather. Should I buy better bag i.e. Kata, Lowepro.
Appreciate any advice.
Cheers, TH.

I'm sure the canon camera bag would be suitable even in winter.
That said, having a good bag does make life easier.

I highly recommend the rotation 180 panorama bag.
It's true quick access, comfortable, doesn't look like a camera bag and all weather.

Oh ok.
Because if you intend to go professional(commercial), a strong fundamental grasp in lighting knowledge as well as sufficient lighting equipments will be immensely helpful.
Natural lighting may not be available all the time.

I like the tone of the first photo.
The outfit for the second photo looks pretty good too.

better try it out for yourself first, at my first commercial shoot for food, I do mostly homemade stuff like a small studio made of white cardboard and those light bulbs. Tho I get scratch head and laugh from the one who hired me but I get my job done and they like it.

my old sensei done a one light setup for Maybelline photoshoot in his earlier days, which the ang moh didn't like at first given that they use multiple light setup and yet he delivers.

so its all about your own style, some people buy alot of unnecessary stuff and end up not using it at the end which is wasting money.

ps: Called by my senior to help him out on Black Hat's film technical department... didnt know that THOR joined in the cast.

thank god I bring my 5dm2, tho... I was scold later for bringing in the camera by the Assist Dir.

sorry the picture is big

ISO 800 isn't that high tongue.gif

further more it's only 1/500, incase the bird starts to fly you still need faster shutter speed to freeze the action.
