When fruitie had it, it was already aged, and I pushed it even  further doh.gif

Now what macro lenses out there that I can get for 500 bucks... Hmmm

How about canon 100 f/2.8 usm macro? Need double your budget though

Well it's X-mas soon... time to get yourself an early X-mas gift biggrin.gif
Planning to get 1-2 lens myself by end of this month... but budget constraint will probably make me settle with only 1 of my fav lens and maybe 1 cheap substitute..

Hi a new (second hand) 6d user here. wave.gif using a 16-35, 50mm f1.4 non l and tokina 100mm macro lens. Still have no chance to do street shooting yet as i am busy unsure.gif

Finally got a proper dslr after fiddling with mirrorless (m43 and a7) all the while. I think all different type of camera (DSlR or mirrorless) have their own place and it all depends on the need and circumstances at the time smile.gif

i would suggest getting something like a 50mm + extension tubes until you managed to save up for a new set of macro lens.

Have that, but no need so leceh for now, coz my current 28-75 was surprisingly very sharp! So no need to purposely get a macro lens for now smile.gif

i wonder how much magnification do you actually need for food shots? i guess very seldom you will go more than 1:2?

Hardly, but just love a macro coz we can go very close to the subject instead of cropping in pp later...
This is the last shot of the sp90, just love how it can capture the details on the stem, somehow the earlier 24-105 wasn't that pixel sharp...

So far very impressed with the build and especially sharpness, not sure whether it is due to the "macro" abilities added

I still have the a7 using old Nikon lenses. I suppose a7 is light enough to use when weight is problem. Something I miss using AF lens so 6d with 50mm lens will do the work.

Still not used using dslr for street shooting..
