QUOTE(g88 @ Dec 15 2015, 11:59 AM) Good to have, if nikon can make it, I don't see why nonac can't make it. Anyway luckily nonac compensated with 11-24L. Looking forward for an improved version of 24-70. Btw 35mm f2 is crappy, no idea why they even invested IS on it. tsk tsk. QUOTE(adam_lss @ Dec 15 2015, 11:59 AM) If you already fork out like close to 8k for 24-70L, i think extra 1k for IS is justifiable la. |

Eh who says 70mm doesn't need IS?
When the lighting is low and f2.8 doesn't help, you can at least get 2 to 4 stops stabilization and that help a lot! This is also helpful in handheld videography, 24-70 with IS is really useful. Try out the 24-70 f/4 IS and see, it has low-light advantage over 24-70 f/2.8 |

Anyway luckily nonac compensated with 11-24L. thats a very narrow minded mind...if nikon can do it why not you change to nikon system ? 24-70 just got improved to II and F4 version won't be any new improve version in next 3 to 5 years...Looking forward for an improved version of 24-70. QUOTE(teikboon @ Dec 15 2015, 12:40 PM) Yeap, 11-24L without IS already like 10k, if with IS fuhhh.... madnessQUOTE(goldfries @ Dec 15 2015, 12:54 PM) Eh who says 70mm doesn't need IS? IS is useful more for videography as it helps to reduce handshake movement. When the lighting is low and f2.8 doesn't help, you can at least get 2 to 4 stops stabilization and that help a lot! This is also helpful in handheld videography, 24-70 with IS is really useful. Try out the 24-70 f/4 IS and see, it has low-light advantage over 24-70 f/2.8 For low-light photography, I'll take f2.8 anytime over f4 IS. IS doesn't help to reduce blurry shots due to subject movement, but having 2.8 gives you the higher shutter speed to freeze movement. QUOTE(g88 @ Dec 15 2015, 01:26 PM) 35 F2 is crap ? till u try then only comment...all lens have its pros and cons. don't judge so optimistically la Nah, I don't try lenses and start judging 'optimisticlally'.I've owned most of the lenses, from budget to premium lenses. I still have 30 over premium lenses in my hand. I can honestly tell you this is crap lens. My Siggy 30mm f1.4 kicks my C35 anytime yo. |

QUOTE(vikingw2k @ Dec 15 2015, 04:24 PM) For low-light photography, I'll take f2.8 anytime over f4 IS. I should be more specific in my post. IS doesn't help to reduce blurry shots due to subject movement, but having 2.8 gives you the higher shutter speed to freeze movement. If you're like me shooting still subjects and scenery (and don't mind movement trails) then F4 IS is better than F2.8. If it's action or movements then yes F2.8 has 1-stop edge to reduce motion blur. |

Even if he doesn't own it, I think he's entitled his opinion. Every other lens in this world will have people who love them and people who hate them, or have varying opinion. What you adore may be what I detest and vice versa. |

QUOTE(adam_lss @ Dec 15 2015, 05:01 PM) You'll love 2.8 if you are shooting events. I struggle a lot with f4, even at widest end 11mm. Have to bump iso kawkaw to compensate. QUOTE(mingyuyu @ Dec 15 2015, 07:53 PM) and weight. |
