voltage for NB does smile.gif

No, what i mean is, does adjusting voltages affects even if u're using different chipset heatsinks?

Ok, i'm using the same northbridge voltage for each heatsink, and what i found is, the NC-U6 can cool my northbridge better than the NB-400CU...

It's the same voltage, so what's the difference there? smile.gif

no need to measure the temp one, it will not overheat punye, don't worry, i pretty sure it will perform it's best...

unless u doing a review for it laugh.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

ic...but then I can't know whether NC-U6 will cool down how many C than my stock NB cooler lor...sigh... doh.gif

safely, i would say u will cut off 10degrees or maybe even more with a fan.
last time when i replaced my thermal paste only, the temps dropped by 5 degrees

I know I can get around that drop in temp...just I can't give the result as I promised before... icon_rolleyes.gif

nice but wouldn't it better to have the CPU heat sinl to be configured with push rather than pull air ???

it's a push and pull configuration, i'm using the noctua fan to push the air, thermaltake fan with manual control to pull the air and then the chassis fan (silverstone 32mm fan); manually controlled as a third puller. take a look at the picture. the cpu and chipset cooler are both noctua. thank god that the noctua chipset cooler can be rotated because if not the graphic card will be a problem

Something really weird happens today... sweat.gif
Today, i just bought at Vantec Aeroflow TMD [Tip Megnatic Drive] 70mm fan.
And i fixed it on my Noctua NC-U6...

You guys wanna know what i got after fixing the fan on the Noctua NC-U6 on the chipset?

I've got 45degrees!!! mad.gif
What the hell? doh.gif

I thought by fixing a fan on the NC-U6, the chipset will be cooler than using the NC-U6 on passive mode...

Then, i turn off the fan, and the temps drops a lot man!!!
It goes back to 32degrees!!!

Hmm...
Weird...

Does this means that the Noctua NC-U6 can only work on passive mode?
Does it means that it is not advisable to use a fan on the NC-U6 sweat.gif

Coolice, try take out the fan that you've fixed on you're own NC-U6, then look at the temperature, does the temperature drops?

Weird...
Anyone else that uses NC-U6, try fit either a 70mm @ 60mm fan on the NC-U6, and take a look at the temperatures, do you experience the same thing as i do?

Weird liao... sweat.gif

Can anyone explain why? rclxub.gif

u fix the board in case now?i tried but with fan on decreased 2c only
possible the air blowing by TMD is interfere with ur case flow?
or noctua is design for low speed fan?

Yes, the motherboard is in my casing...
You mean, while the fan is on, the temps decreased 2 degrees only?

Or while the fan is off the temps decreased 2 degrees?

Don't understand sweat.gif

About the the air blowing is interfere with my case air flow, i'm not really sure bout that, but, will it affect the temps of my chipset?

Sorry, newbie about air flow here... sweat.gif

About noctua is designed for low speed fan, i thought about the same thing too, maybe the design are just the same with scythe ninja, who knows...

But still, it's giving me a headache... rclxub.gif

The noctua is fitting facing the 8800GTS card, and the fan is blowing directly to the card...

I don't think it's sucking hot air from somewhere else... rclxub.gif

haha..mine is vice versa..sucking air from back of graphic card and blow toward proc laugh.gif
have u try lower speed with TMD on noctua?5v or 7v perhaps

Maybe after it blow the hot air to the 8800GTS , the hot air tendang balik from the 8800GTS to the NC-06?... unsure.gif

Tried, it's running at lowest speed [set in bios]
It's full speed is 6000RPm, and when i set it to run at lowest speed, it is set to run at 3000RPm...

Full speed or lowest speed, it's just the same, no improvement at all... rclxub.gif
When i turn on the fan, i can see that the chipset heatsink fins is cool, but not the northbridge itself, the heatsink cools down, but the northbridge temps rises up... doh.gif

Don't think so, as the NC-U6 is kinda far from the graphic card.
It's too far to let the hot air to be rounded up back to the fan back again. sweat.gif

base on ur statement.
i hv to make 2 guess...

1st of all, due to heavy vibration, it affect the contact make between chipset and heatsink.

2nd, the airflow inside the casing is disturb by the fan u tide with heatsink.
so, u might need to change ur fan blowing direction, inorder to improve ur whole system temperature to more cooler...
