QUOTE(lolhalol @ Oct 3 2006, 04:46 PM) @kataro Thanks lolhalol for the info dude definately can fit...hr-05 imo can fit almost all mobos..coz it has small footprint...bt will block gc if the chipset is near the pci-e slots...ur borad sure can fit as long ur nt using some super sized cooling solution... like the ninja..so join the hr-05 revolution.hehe I wanna ask, how to fix this cooler into the motherboard leh. As I see from their website, it's base do not have anything to fix it on to the chipset. I mean, it is come with pin hole or maybe screw or else? |

QUOTE(lolhalol @ Oct 3 2006, 06:02 PM) bro his board dificult to fit the sli version lah are this statement direct to me? ![]() QUOTE I dont think facing the IO plate will be blocked because AFAIK, the chipset cooler is taller than the standard caps. P/s : I don't think theres a need for HR-05 on this motherboard anyway, not worth to get it on a low end board because there won't be much difference, save the money and get a better board. So mean I do not need to buy a cooler for my nb right? Edited to add: forget to tell, the temp1 temperature is around 61C to 63C, so hot... This post has been edited by Kataro: Oct 5 2006, 09:23 AM |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Oct 5 2006, 11:58 AM) Why don't u use an easier way to find out the temperature of you're processor and chipset? Dear sHawTY, thanks for the info Wanna know how? Easy, go get you'reself PC Wizard 2006 Here you go: http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php Click on the link, then go to the bottom of the page, then download it, install it, run it then click on the icon that looks like a "meter" that has positive and negative symbols in the icons... Got that? Now go download, install then run it to know the temperature of you're processor and norhtbridge... I will download and install it when I back home to see what my processor and northbridge. Thanks a lot. |

QUOTE(lolhalol @ Oct 5 2006, 04:18 PM) @ kataro here is the link K7VM2.dude can u post a link to ur boards specs..then we can help u out beter...or post a picture.... and also afaik most mobos(99%) have a way to mount the cooler on.... its either pushpin(amd) or the intel way ,, forgot wats it called. I already have a small fan to blow the northbridge, just thinking of maybe add a better cooler will make the performance better. But Rlhh say there will be no different even if I fix a hr-05 on it, so maybe I just stay with my current cooler and fan lor. Anyway, thanks for you guys input and advise... |

I had test with the PC Wizard, my processor temp is ~40C - 42C, and the motheboard temp is 62C all the way. I found that my BIOS did not show the temp correctly, it show that my processor have 62C and the chasis temp 41C
BTW, the motherboard temp show in PC Wizard is the northbridge temp is it? 62C is very hot right? Is it normal? |

U might wanna change u're heatsink into this: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...671&hl=evercool Trust me, it'll cool you're chipset more than what you think... So, no need to go so high end chipset cooler loh... Thanks. @Rlhh, thanks for your info too. |

QUOTE(lolhalol @ Oct 9 2006, 04:01 PM) @kataro bro dis depends..theres too many variables to consider... neway looks like its not gona help much coz most old chipsets dun need much cooling anyway..bt if u really intend to buy a chipset cooler... remember to get universal coolers ..like those that let u use the push pin or the other method...the hr-05 for examle Edited to add: Since I will build conroe system next time, so maybe will have sli too...so do you think I should buy hr-05 or hr-05 sli? QUOTE(lolhalol @ Oct 10 2006, 05:05 PM) @kataro ic...that will be great...but I just search for the hr-05 sli from thermalright website and found that the sli one might be too big for my current motherboard where it will block by the cpu cooler or the gc or the ram... bro both are almost similar..bt imo the hr-05 is beter coz the heat has less distance to travel in the heat pipe to the fins..bt the sli version is also good as it is more compatible with more motherboareds.... maybe I should buy hr-05 first, then next time change to hr-05 sli and the hr-05 maybe can put on southbridge, hopefully... |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Oct 10 2006, 06:50 PM) ??? oic, so I can buy hr-05 for my northbridge first lor You've got it wrongly... If u're using a motherboard that is Intel chipset based motherboard, then the normal HR-05 is the best for the northbridge... While the southbridge, it's better for you to use the HR-05 SLI... hehe...great..but I need to save some money first... |

QUOTE(lolhalol @ Jan 5 2007, 05:03 PM) mobo temps is usually totally different from the chipset. how can the mobo tempp be the chipset temp if the mobo is not even prducing alot of heat load? mobo is usually ur case temp. but of course nt every board has these...like dfi lp series, the mobo ttemp is replace by pwm temp, etc....u get the picture? In this case, how we can know our chipset temp ler? Let say using speedfan, which temp is chipset temp ler?For my case, I can only see 4 temp, there are temp1, temp2, hd0 & hd1 temp...temp2 is my proc temp, so the temp1 is mobo temp? or chipset temp? |
