QUOTE(Zenobia @ Aug 9 2014, 03:40 PM) Hi guys, i quite not understand the instruction on how to root eventhough I've read several rooting guide thread. from the first page rooting guide, Yes u can root stable rom and which part is you not understand from the guide? your mi3 as default will boot to 1st system.. anything u do also will affect 1st system.. any change will affect your 2nd system only and only if u change to boot to 2nd system using Recovery mode.."For the ROOT, we need to have: 1. The stable firmware (Mi3-WCDMA/CDMA or Mi3-WCDMA HK) installed in the 1st system of the smartphone. " Question; Am I need to download and flash firmware Mi3-WCDMA/CDMA or Mi3-WCDMA HK first before continue with the step below? Steps to get the ROOT: 1. Download the first script (1_MI3_WCDMA_stable_root.zip) on the phone, rename it to update.zip, place it in the root of the card. 2. Load in mi-recovery and flash it as normal firmware in the 1st partition without wipe, it takes 10-30 seconds. 3. Load in the first system. 4. Goin into the program and Permissions include ROOT. 5. Profit! what i want is, i just want to have root permission, and keep stable build v22. it is possible? I root xperia neo & n7000 before, but i dont understand mi3 rooting guide |

Tried both SG & MY rom, both suck to max. Got limitation, it's like using iPhone without jailbreak.
Flashed to xiaomi.eu roms and never gone back. This morning just updated OTA to 4.8.8. Looking forward to Miui V6. |

QUOTE(ghyeng @ Aug 9 2014, 05:14 PM) Developer rom, multilanguage ROM, but most included app comes with english language. Can access Theme Market with paid/free theme. Can sideload lots of beautiful theme .mtz from miui forum or from the internet.http://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-wee...m-releases.103/ In short, it comes with all the benefits of dev rom but included Play Store and most UI are translated in english. Most chinese bloatware are removed too. Here is what I do with my Mi3 after freshly bought from shop 1. Install CWM recovery 2. Reboot to recovery, install .zip full ROM file from xiaomi.eu 3. Boot to new ROM, enjoy like new phone 4. Enable root in 1 click (Security App > Permisson > Root) 5. Every friday or saturday morning, enjoy updating to latest built using OTA. Hope this can help. I need to flash "The stable firmware (Mi3-WCDMA/CDMA or Mi3-WCDMA HK) installed in the 1st system of the smartphone." first, before proceed to install CWM and install SU?? It look like most of us here, rooted & flashed to developer rom. This post has been edited by Zenobia: Aug 9 2014, 06:39 PM |

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Aug 9 2014, 03:00 PM) Well bro, if that's the case, there's a "hardcore" way to disable the OTA function, which is, delete the update apk. But you will need to root the phone first. Just a little suggestion. i guess there is another methodhttp://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/ota-disable.9539/ to go Security -> then limit the data usage of "update", dont let this apk use data/wifi |

It look like most of us here, rooted & flashed to developer rom. If you are on stable rom/stock rom, check the root permission first. If it's locked, then you need to root it. If you are on the dev rom, you don't have to root it because it's root automatically in dev rom. This post has been edited by Max2006: Aug 9 2014, 07:30 PM |

QUOTE(madness_hero @ Aug 9 2014, 01:14 PM) I've just updated my Mi3 to ver.22 Can someone help please.and now my Wifi connection can't connect. Have restarted the phone several time and even changed the password for my router twice, but still can't get Wifi to connect. I see that it's AUTENTICATING, then OBTAINING IP ADDRESS, then no juice. Anyone met with this issue too? Should I downgrade back to V18? |
