QUOTE(dares @ Jul 14 2014, 10:52 AM) I thought about this also, turning off VSA when stuck in mud. Then I though shouldn't traction control help in such cases, I mean if TC can't get you out of the mud, endlessly spinning your wheels in it won't help either, right? Turning off VSA would switch off TC as well. VSA/TC will automatically apply brake on ur car tyre when it detect skidding/lose traction, u want to turn that off so that it doesn't automatically apply brake..when ur non-VSA/TC car stuck in mud & press gas pedal lightly doesn't get it out of mud, u will stomp on gas pedal more rather than pressing brake right? |

QUOTE(bleu2th @ Jul 15 2014, 01:19 PM) VSA/TC will automatically apply brake on ur car tyre when it detect skidding/lose traction, u want to turn that off so that it doesn't automatically apply brake.. Question is....does stomping on the pedal gets you out of the mud or dig you deeper when ur non-VSA/TC car stuck in mud & press gas pedal lightly doesn't get it out of mud, u will stomp on gas pedal more rather than pressing brake right? TC was designed for such scenario (albeit in snow or slippery surfaces) - intermittently applying brakes so the wheels can regain traction like ABS. Not sure if the same applies to mud. |
