2015/02/10  Tue  11:45
Terminal:  2

via peach airline

so , mostly start from osaka till tokyo all using train , and inside tokyo mostly subway
i also did research for weeks and notice JR pass seems not suitable for me ...
so everything i can purchase on the spot right ? shinkansen everything ...no need advance pre book ?

if you want to save the hassle of buying a ticket every time, just get an IC card

if you get the JR pass, use it to for Tokyo-Odawara (although on the slowest Kodama Shinkansen, but still fast) then you can save a bit from the Hakone Pass

But i remember you are using it from Tokyo to Osaka/Kyoto one way only, so it may not pay off
going to takayama?

I used the pass for Kyoto->Nagoya->Takayama->Nagoya->Tokyo->Odawara...Gotemba->Tokyo and getting around Tokyo on the Yamanote, and Tokyo->Haneda + New Chitose -> Sapporo and I just about break even
But the convenience and flexibility it gave is really good. Example, i used Shinkansen between Ueno and Tokyo cos i find that getting to the Shinkansen platform is easier than to the train platforms

Thanks for the suggestion. Now I want to pay slightly more for Romancecar. blush.gif
If I understand correctly, the 5140 yen is inclusive of normal Odakyu train from Shinjuku to Odawara (round trip), so if I top 890 yen, I could use Romancecar from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto for one way. So, I will still need to pay 5140 yen for Hokane pass regardless I take Odakyu train or not from Shinjuku. I got this correct right? unsure.gif

Yes, only one way and I plan to try the fastest Shinkansen to Osaka. blush.gif Once in a life time.

I guess I will just stick to Pasmo for the convenience rather than paying for JR and I have to stick to JR all the time...

Guys. i am going to Kyoto & Osaka(few days each location) in End March. I had searched the train information from Kansai airport to Kyoto then from kyoto to Osaka and lastly back to Kansai airport.

According japan-guide.com, the recommendation is use JR Haruka express and there is option of Icoca prepaid card for tourist. Should i buy this card or buy the single trip train ticket for traveling in Kyoto & Osaka?

Thanks so much for the assurance. biggrin.gif
So, it includes the round trip also right? If I don't want to take Romancecar, then I don't need to pay additional for the train fares right? Because it comes with round trip of Odakyu normal train (Shinjuku-Odawara-Shinjuku) right?

Yes. Not only Train. Bus also same. Got this pass. All Odakyu transportation are free except Romance Car.
From Hakone (Togendai) can Take Odakyu Highway Express Bus back to Shinjuku.  Faster than Odakyu normal local train.

I am planning to fly to Japan on may for holiday.

Is 1100 per person for return ticket cheap? I'm planning to go for 9 days.

I think if include luggage is around 1500.

Hi. I would like to take a jetstar flight from Nagoya - Sapporo on 1st April 2015. However, it still written as "N/A". Anyone have any idea when the flight will become available? Or anything happen to it? Same goes to ANA, JAL and Skymark.

If cancel. ANA will replaced to Hakadote Or Asahikawa.

If you fly with Peach then cancel means cancel. You will get full refund.

for anyone planning a DAY TRIP to Hakone.. make sure you go early.

I was there around 1pm, and by 5pm the place was DEAD.

Had to walk 1.5km in darkness and wind along the dark roads to the nearest bus stop in order to catch a bus to the nearest rail station.
