I posted in the Note 4 thread about this phone was able to view lowyat Note4/Note 3 threads easily last night and early this morning despite all the numerous GIF and big Porno graphic images posted by one guy. These web page crashed my iphone 6+ each time I tried to load it. The X1 has no such problems
I concluded is due to iphone 6+ memory of only 1GB ram causing such issues

Seems 1GB ram not enough already for today standard then.Wonder why Apple still refuse to bump it up to 2GB.Even their new iPad is still 1GB ram.Although most site and review say iPad eco system is much better then android tablet.I need to try my sister iPad mini when I get back to my hometown to see the difference. Currently planning to get Nexus 9.You planning to get it to uncle benny?

N9 is too big ...max tablet size for me is 8 inch. Gave up also on iPad mini ( bought both wifi n 3G version) as I feel LG G Pad 8.3 or even N7 a more satisfying experience. I don't play games which I believe all Ipad excell better . Probably will consider buying the 64gb N6 but is now no longer cheap as N5

I don't understand Google... Nexus6 have 64GB option but not their Nexus9 tablet. Come on tablet is media consumption device give us extra storage. Google like to ruin my dream.

Media on iPad - leceh lah transferring files over. Need to use iTunes. And you cannot use another media app as files transfer over can only be opened by that specific app you had chosen. Unlike Android you just hold down on file n you had choice of ALL appropriate app you can choose to open the file
For better quality on iPad is better to convert video to its format n this is another burden.

My TV just 32" and need chrome cast...my TV not so smart.I usually bring it around so would be insane if I bring my TV around... Hehe...

Aiming for Nexus 9 currently but only have 32GB option. Wonder if it can support portable external hard drive with OTG or not.One off my favorite function on my X1.

So far all Nexus can support USB OTG but you need it to be rooted

Hi guys, I just got a black X1 and stumbled upon this very informative thread! I have some questions and I know you pros can answer these. :-) Pardon my noobness, I'm quite new to these things.

1 How do you backup your orig rom version? My unit is 7D-501L V100R001C151B001, I can't find one downloadable via google for warranty purposes.

2 To update to KK B007 taiwan ver., does one need to update to B006 first or straight update to B007 will do?

3 Can one downgrade from KK B007 to B006 or JB 001 by just putting the desired ver. file to ext sd card then install it?

4 Are GAPPS and other non-system apps that are factory installed from JB orig. int'l. rom compatible with KK upgrade? Ex., via Titanium backup, probably from my 501L B001 to be restored to KK B007.

5 To enable dropdown softkey menu in KK, is there an alernate way aside from Activity Launcher as suggested by ttkyy post #682?

6 Does installing CWM create an issue when installing updates? Ex. Installing CWM in JB then updating to KK or vice versa. Or installing CWM in KK then updating to another or newer KK release.

Hi welcome. Where are you from?

I think there is no stock ROM from B001 or B002 available except for Western Europe B003.

I believe you can perform a root, flash CWM then make a backup ROM image.

If you read post 4 under Updating Your ROM Manually, you will find that Jeroen_NL says that downgrade is possible.

If you flash a new ROM version by the normal method, I think it will fail as it checks for a stock recovery before flashing.

Please keep your original stock recovery handy using Flashify.

Kindly tell me if this procedure is flawless.

A. With stock rom version

1 Root phone
2 Install Flashify
3 Using Flashify
3.1 Backup current stock recovery img
3.2 Install CWM recovery img from post #4
4 Backup stock rom version using CWM recovery

B. To update to another rom ex. B001 to B007

Q. Do I need to do items 1 and 1.1 or just go straight to no. 2 below?

1 Open Flashify
1.1 Restore stock recovery img to replace CWM recovery img
2 Install updated rom via manual update from post #4.

after I change sdcard to class 10, finally okay!!before this all sd card I test is class 4

Correct. Once you do that your recovery will stay as CWM. You will not be able to update any newer firmware from HuaWei if it is released as an update.app. So you can use Flashify to flash back stock recovery first than only you can update the newer firmware. It is not necessary to update rom in sequence. You can directly update to any or newest version
