QUOTE(joytest @ Jul 22 2014, 09:22 PM) Not sure if gonna lug it around...might be sometimes only.QUOTE(jwai85 @ Jul 22 2014, 09:35 PM) Like joytest mentioned, i carry both in my pocket all the time, one left one right...mediapad has been my daily driver coz my work sim is there...plus battery last so long, all my reading media and gaming is with this... My N4 will be device I will bringing around.Though that might change depends on what I gonna buy.To be honest im only worried about support in the long run...apart from this im happy with it... As a COC gamer, i think u know wats xx...jz root, download and install, then run download the add on and ure good to go...xx quite batt intensive so with the x1 i can play a coc session for about 3 to 4 hours non stop screen on... And my batt is still like 30% plus minus... Hmm..i don't know what xx for CoC.Please enlighten this noob. QUOTE(joytest @ Jul 22 2014, 10:32 PM) jwai85 it's "carry" Hope it will at least get Android L.Does Huawei got good community on XDA?Support is not exactly a real worry since even 4.1.2 is sufficiently functional for most use cases, and if you only use it for reading and surfing, even those el-cheapo 1Gb 4" phones can handle it although your eyes will get seriously squinty after a short while. QUOTE(joytest @ Jul 22 2014, 11:46 PM) This is a good contender, but it does not seem to be a phone: Seems nice but not sure gonna come our market or not. Here are the NVIDIA Shield Tablet Specs 8", 2Gb RAM, sdcard, 1920x1200, STYLUS support....worldwide LTE bands supported too. QUOTE(stevenX @ Jul 23 2014, 10:35 AM) Haha...even steven come ask...no shi ar member know about it? |

QUOTE(behrouz2014 @ Jul 30 2014, 05:00 PM) Thank you very much I wonder ,why gadget like Galaxy SIII with Mali400 GPU ,can run GTA SanAndreas in High setting without lag and Mediapad X1 may crash ! I expect higher graphics from Mali 450 MP4. Did you test other launcher instead of stock EmotionUI? Laggy keeps on or gone? QUOTE(mudkipryan94 @ Jul 30 2014, 05:20 PM) Emo UI? not laggy at once but i prefer Nova Launcher and about GPU, yes... much higher than 400 (450M4 : 480Mhz yeah still kicking and Mali400: 420Mhz and even that, My N4 w Adreno 320 also wins 400 man, haha ) edited QUOTE(joytest @ Jul 30 2014, 07:46 PM) Exynos 4412 on the S3 was probably a 5th gen product and very mature on the driver side. Samsung has been producing cpus for many years as well and was tops in performance before Qualcomm woke up. Huawei got into the game with the K3Vx family only about 2 years ago. I'm sure their drivers can do with some tuning. QUOTE(behrouz2014 @ Jul 30 2014, 09:46 PM) Drivers mature in samsung products is a fact Not because X1 proses more pixel?S3 is 720p only while X1 is 1020p.But SIII antutu is 17000 and X1 is 22000 , but SIII run GTA smoothly and X1 just in Mid graphic is OK!!!!!! So antutu benchmark results is not criterion or ...... I confused ......... |

After playing this device for almost day this is my view.
This device is not for power user & gamers. The lags is quite annoying.More if you come from a Nexus device. I hope this is just a software issues though.Although it don't heat as much as my N4 when playing games. Screen is gorgeous.Great for reading & movie.Im having a great time reading manga in this phablet with it's screen and form factor. Battery life is great. That 5000mah sure will last you a long time.Even with heavy usage. Camera is nice but that's not my priority. At least it better than what you find in a Nexus. You need to tweak it if you want a batter shot. The speaker sound is good.Im not an audiophile so can't comment much. Out of the box points I give 7/10. Good:1.screen 2.form factor 3.battery 4.speaker 5.camera Bad:1.software |

QUOTE(un_id @ Aug 12 2014, 03:53 PM) 7/10 is too low I think. Software is 2 points for me .No use having great spec if the software not in harmony with it.I would put slight lag issue aside, I rate this 9/10 for the overall built. The other minus is from spec. I think Mali 450 can't handle the amount of pixels this device churned out. Might be the reason for the stuttering and drop in frame rate when gaming. Build quality is top notch. That I can't argue. And I really love reading on this screen. |

Does Huawei support custom dev community well?Like releasing source code? Any news on AOSP rom for this device?
I really miss my AOSP.The software side is killing me.I hope they do something good in next firmware update. |

QUOTE(joytest @ Aug 17 2014, 09:43 AM) You can install Nova launcher with Zooper or any of the theming engines. Why restrict yourself to wait for the manufacturer? That is the beauty of Android. True2...After playing with the device for few days I started to accept the slightly lag and stuttering OS.(got pampered by my Nexus 4 smoothness) Battery life is awesome. Manage to survive until I finish my shift.Something that I never enjoy with my N4.I didn't even try smart or endurance mode yet. Reading on the device is a joy.Screen is crisp and sharp. The design and weight also made reading on long hours comfortable.Comic & manga readers this is the device of choice. The camera can take some great picture with the right setting and conditions. Way better than my N4.Still tweaking to get better results constantly.(any recommended app?) While playing high grafic game might drop the frame rate it is still acceptable. The device also don't heat that much during long hours of playing. Now my wish would be AOSP rom on the device and some kernel tweaking. |
