hi guys, i got a question. my mi3 has been working fine for the past week, but this morning, i got a call and when i picked up, i coudnt hear anything. yeah the earpiece seems to be dead. i switched on speakerphone and sure enough the call was working fine.

rebooted phone, switched it totally off and turn back on, then took out the sim tray and put it back in. i also did that hardware test, and yep, cant hear anything through the earpiece as well. no go.

i'm judging this is a hardware issue and will take it to the warranty center.

juuuust to check though, is there anything else i can try that might save me the trip to PJ? im in cyberjaya..i'd rather not have to make the journey.

thanks oh sifus!

I found that 'Power Off' and 'Reboot' are different. If you 'Power Off' and start again doesn't work, try the 'Reboot' and see.

thanks for the help bro. yes i did both. anyway, i found a solution...this is gonna sound weird...but it worked. i kinda slapped the back of the phone with the earpiece facing down...then make a call. and i kept trying.

it went back to normal.

of all the things to do, beating it back in line worked...hish.. rclxub.gif

(friend of mine read this method on a china forum. figure that huh? sweat.gif )

Dont wait for M'sia ver, won't bring anything good. Just flash to intl/China rom. China rom supports english well with added features like tons themes and a good music player integrated with baidu

not recommend flash to China ROM, it is always not suitable for us (especially with our telco), not sure about Taiwan ROM... maybe some one can have a tried...
I revert back from China ROM after using it for 2 day, ( i still found DEV rom better hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif )

Talking about dev rom, I just noticed that now it's already 4.4.3

I wonder when we can get 4.4.4 update laugh.gif

Was thinking about to get Redmi Note too but the latest is 4.2.2 kinda puts me off

Mine is still 4.4.2 (using Dev ROM 4.7.4 )

maybe DEV ROM 4.7.11 is 4.4.3 already..
but I am still thinking to switch over or stick with currently ( so far 4.7.4 serve me the best )...

because i read the changelog for 4.7.11, it is more toward MiPad fixing, not much on Mi3, soooooooo..........

Can you found any different on 4.4.3 ? compare with 4.4.2 ?? :blur:

I think miui stop killing background app with 4.7.11

Woke up and apps I ran yesterday before sleep are still in task manager. Personally feel this is the best.

4.4.2 > 4.4.3 > 4.4.4 are mostly towards security bugs being fixed rather than performance issues.

For me at least, I feel no difference at all laugh.gif

As for miui, seems like a lot of fixes & updates but for normal users like me, it's negligible. I hope V6 will be based on Android L though.
