anyone else updated to dev 4.7.4?

tested the "Saver" function this morning
Off = 5~9Mbps
On = <1Mbps

helps you to save quota, but compensate on connection speed..
*
Never tried Speedtest but so far acceptable for me.
From changelog, they only compressed the data before sending out, that's why bandwidth consumption is lower

QUOTE(skylightlava @ Jul 5 2014, 11:18 AM)
move to android pls!

anyway some review here after using xiaomi for almost 2 weeks. Hardware is great but full of bugs even the with basic function. I rely on phone heavily for work purposes, even done all the necessary setting, still whatsapp delay meassage, Line apps messages totally not in, email not push. Call with bluetooth, the sound is too soft. Sync contacts with problems. Im using dev rom.

tested the phone with asphalt 8, crash and need to set the game quality to medium in order to play. play fifa 14, first ok, after a while crashed and stopped so as the game spartan 300.

Anyone facing these problems too? feeling abit regret from changing samsung to xiaomi now. They update the rom by not fixing all these bugs but adding new features like "data saver" in it. So, overall those who going to bought these phone, i would say wait another 6 months to get all these bugs fix and stabil. and may be by the time, u can get mi4.

Anyway i look at One plus thread even full of bugs, so these chinese company phones still need some times to get this issues solved.
*
Besides Asphalt 8 which I never downloaded, I only experienced the delay notification few times before.
Now using the latest Dev Rom, so far no issue.

QUOTE(Damonzero @ Jul 5 2014, 11:58 AM)
If i saved the phone number without the +60 , in the sms will duplicate 2 thread, how to solve this?

Example:

+6016-2099999
Hi how r u

016-2099999
Hi im fine
*
I had this before.
Solved by merging contacts & deleting previous messages.

Not sure if this topic has been brought up before.....

I notice there is no "message template" in MIUI. For example, you can save some commonly use phrases such as email address, "I'm on my way now", etc and select it in sms.

IOS did it in a better way that not only SMS but anywhere you can use such phrases in "shortcut".

I thought this is a standard feature for Android but not found in MIUI. Please enlighten me in case it is just me didn't know where to find it.

Thanks!
*
For stock MIUI, i don't think they have this function.
My stock Nexus also have this function.

It's a matter of app development actually. Since MIUI is based on feedbacks, I guess it's a matter of time before they implement it tongue.gif

MIUI does have this feature, you need to dig in deeper. Btw, go to messaging > send a message > beside you'll see a "+" button, press it > scroll to left.  smile.gif

Wow..

Awesome find

anyone tried with miui find phone feature?

i tried mine but it seems take forever to locate my device where cerberus only took few second to locate mine
*
The MIUI stock find phone has never been accurate especially indoors.

I used the free Avira for my other phones & tablet, quickly found within seconds. It helps when the phone is connected to internet & gps on.

QUOTE(jeremy05 @ Jul 6 2014, 06:50 PM)
why not u try it? i had try all the combination, also can't make it.

if you said 1/5000s too fast, but i use 1/1000s, 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30...etc

if too slow, can't make the fan still, if too fast, fan become bend, there is no middle point...

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Jul 6 2014, 07:36 PM)
digital camera hv bigger sensor, they able to collect more light effectively
and their sensor is top rated one... especially lx5... the IQ is among the best out there
*
QUOTE(hon kin @ Jul 6 2014, 07:53 PM)
just tried with my phone, ISO1600 and above and 1/1000s and faster, i just simply got a black screen! doh.gif
*
With regards to Jeremy's attempt on fan pictures, i think there's a confusion here.

It's not about the sensor (which is a good one) but rather the lens on the phone itself is just not fast enough.
So the option of having 1/5000s is a bit misleading because it will just be capped at the fastest lens speed on the camera.

Most DSLR's & PnS camera have IC chips on the lens to "communicate with the camera, but for Mi3 camera, no idea. I'm assuming no such feature because can't seem to find any info on the lens being used.

Don't think HDR works great in low light. HDR combines 3 different image of different exposures to enhance the details of the image, which works great if you're taking landscape images with sufficient light. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a photographer.
*
QUOTE(baowen @ Jul 7 2014, 12:24 AM)
I am not a photographer too, but it seem hdr can capture "More Light" lol sleep.gif"

welll.. just RM800 phone, i don't demand on it
*
HDR is good when there's too much of one thing like too much light at one area.
So by taking 3 pictures with different levels of contrast, the software can interlace & take the best parts of each picture.
But don't compare with DSLR la, example a D7000 can set at 5 pictures, more levels to play around laugh.gif

Use A Better Camera instead of stock camera for HDR, ABC takes 3 pictures while stock takes only 1 but use software to manipulate to be HDR-ish
hmm.gif

QUOTE(ne0cz @ Jul 7 2014, 12:33 AM)
coz combine 3 shots I think. Last time my HTC One X also got bug. HDR + night mode photos really bright. But hand must really steady coz each shot also slow shutter speed.  sweat.gif
*
shaky hands maybe because you're holding it wrongly? sweat.gif
I always tuck in my elbows to my body while holding the phone when taking pictures especially when don't have any tripods laying around laugh.gif

Relax bro, he's just excited.
Plus it's not like he's promoting sales to any particular user sweat.gif

On a side note, i think it is weird that for a flagship phone, very few accessories available at official store.

I wonder if it's due to Kastam or what.

the swiftkey has wat use actually?? i not dare to uninstall it...
*
I've been using Swiftkey since it first came out.

Very useful.

It actually learns your typing & word pattern, so when you "swipe", it will predict what you really want to say.
And nowadays, it's cloud based. So wahtever data collected, can recover back in case you change devices, no need study back from zero laugh.gif

Nope ! i more like moderator/admin personal vendetta against fast moving thread, who know they themselves could be selling rival brand..  laugh.gif

Just like Property Talk thread, when thread on negative news of property market get closed/banned/moved as the moderator/staff is also into property business..  brows.gif

Go & see Huawei 3C thread, same issue but never kena banned.
*
Personally I don't mind talking about "price" of whatever items because at least it can serve as a check & balance.

But I think our thread is unique in a way that there are lots of scalpers/opportunist, and even gullible buyers who'd recommend these scalpers/opportunists.

Hence, the high amount of reports submitted laugh.gif
