Hi all, would like to check if you experience this. The rubber on the windscreen started to peel off and SC advised they can't do much and ask me to go to HQ instead. And also where ever I turn my steering from left to right or vice versa, there is noise like "eeeeee" and SC said it is normal hence can't d anything.

Anyone get this engine clatter ? .....from the net is tensioner issue causing timing chain hitting cover

my pug was "hospitalised" on 9/9/2015 for "friction wheel" problem and will be road ready, maybe by next week. the noise coming from the engine sounded like the a loud motorbike's "pooo-pooo"

I've recently gone for my 20k km service. the fc did improve after my first 10k km service so yours should too. for someone whose nick is speed demon,i think you are one sensible demon,doing 130km/h.

Yes the engine clutter is caused by trimming chain. My neighbor thought mine was a diesel engine. This problem was sevier on early Prince, but on EP6CDTM, it's only noise.

I am getting my car on 22nd Sept next week...... Make an appointment for 40k service at Balakong SC.........After that, plan to send my car for Sierra Glow Coating(Rm1980) at Penang. Found 408T Oem player cost 1.5k including Labour & reverse camera with warranty 2 years at KL

How is the cost of 40K service?

Thats the thing , no error or power loss watsoever. Just the clattering sound. My foremen say its common n could be solved within a day. So my guess is the guide or tensioner

Yes it is common on all Prince engine. There were a number of engine failures on Minis, in the early models. BMW diagnosed guides as the problem and redesigned them. It's not a problem now, but clutter seems to be there.

Interesting your foreman says he can solve it. Would like to know what he can do.

40k service is normal service, should be under $500/-.I've claimed thermostat sensor, it's around $500.

This is a very reliable Lion. All new 1.6THP petrol engined Lions are now fitted with this engine with further emissions refinement. Adhere to it's service shedule,you'll have no problems. Can't compare this car with Hyundai or Jap cars. The technology in this car is multi years advanced!

I found a receipt, previous owner claimed the thermostat sensor before.

I m coming along from Penang to Gombak to buy this Lion...Used car dealer offered me cash price 60k for the car & rm500 fees for name transfer & Puspakom. Very nice used car dealer in Gombak. .... No processing fees as some used car dealer cheating by placing 2 to 3k processing fees..... Insurance i take my own. i told the used car, i prefer AIG, since they offer Agreed value of 82K, so used car dealer advise me to get it my own. Kindly advise, How much i can insured my Windscreen. I really satisfied with the condition of the car since the interior original smell still there & every looks brand new & feels like brand new....I can feel since i test drive brand new car before.....

Actually i targeted Peugeot 508, but my budget never allow me since i m buying cash & don't prefer monthly installment. Finally end up with 408T....

Ya ur rite, can't compare with Hyundai & Kia in term of handling.

Are your referring to that "klak klak klak klak" sound that happens after you rev and let go the throttle? The "vrooooommmm....klak klak klak klak" sound......

Try adjusting the entire heatshield. It could be some part of the heatshield is touching the catalytic. I previously have this problem.

I too was keen on the 508. But at that time 508 engine still had some unresolved issues. Got to be careful if want to get used 508. If not mistaken from 2014, 508s were fitted with EP6CDTM engines. These are the reliable Prince engines. At the same time 2 of my friends who have the older Prince 508, have had no problem with 3years ownership. I guess luck plays a part too!

IMO, 82k is overvalue as you paid only 60k. When it comes to claims,Inc co insist on market value. I insured mine ( 2012 model ) for 65k, windscreen 3k.

Nowadays insurance company offers Agreed Value & Market value Insurance.

AIG & Allianz Insurance offers this product... If take Agreed value insurance, refund will be full amount.

But The Value quoted higher than market value.

You may have noticed in some of our quotation that the proposed sum insured are stated as Agreed Value. While there are time it is based on Market Value. So, what actually is the difference between Agreed Value and Market Value? And which value should you insured your vehicle for?

Our recommendation would be insuring your vehicle based on Agreed Value. Agreed Value is the sum insured amount agreed by the Insurance Company (in this Case, Allianz General) for your vehicle based on your vehicle’s age and model. Allianz has a comprehensive motor vehicle database for common vehicle in determining the Agreed Value. Insuring your vehicle based on Agreed Value will eliminate the risk of under or over-insuring your vehicle. In the event of a claim, your sum coverage will not be questioned and Allianz will payout accordingly to your policy, as it is an Agreed Value.

If you insured your vehicle based on Market Value, in the event of a claim, your insurer will pay out according to your vehicle market value at the time prior to the accident. Assuming you insured your vehicle for RM80,000 and after 9 months, your vehicle’s market value could have reduced to RM72,000. Thus, in the event of a total loss or thief, the insurance company would compensate you RM72,000 and not RM80,000.

If you insured your vehicle based on the Agreed Value provided, example RM80,000. In the event of a claim, Allianz will pay out based on RM80,000 as it has been agreed upon.

As market value for your vehicle may be difference based on different sources, thus, there could be a risk of under-insuring. You may think that your vehicle is worth RM30,000 and thus insured for RM30,000. But, the insurance company may value your vehicle at RM40,000. Thus, in the event of a claim, you are actually under-insured by 25%. This will affect your claim payout, as the payout will be reduced by 25% proportionately.

Thus, it is advisable to insure your vehicle with an Insurance Company that has Agreed Value system. Allianz is among the first insurance company to implement Agree Value coverage.
