Hi vemaltech
I understand now why you insured at a high value.

Anyway, like I said earlier, adhere strictly to the service schedules and you'll have no problems. You are very lucky to get this wonderful & great car at such a good price. You'll enjoy this car very much!

Cheers bro  thumbup.gif

What u say about this extended warranty is very true. T & C are rather vague, what exactly is covered is not clear.

IMO, timing chain is covered under extended warranty. You should approach Clic & also get an independent legal opinion on this.
*
Just to close the loop. I have given a call to Clic to request for timing chain coverage and the answer is timing chain is covered while under manufacturer's warranty (means the first 3 years) but during the extended warranty, it depends on the insurance company discretion. I gave feedback the description of covered parts in the extended warranty booklet is vague and asked to provide the exact list of parts being covered by the extended warranty. But was asked to refer to the insurance company for the list and the insurance company also just asked to refer only to the booklet. I think such vaguely-worded terms will leave rooms for ambiguity and offhandedness.

I was thinking to get the timing chain replacement done at independent workshop as it's cheaper but strange thing was the error did not pop up anymore after driving it for almost 2 months. Hopefully it stays that way, finger crossed. However, the damage was RM300+ as the service center charged for dis-assemble and re-assemble the engine for diagnostic purpose and also some gaskets.

Are your referring to that "klak klak klak klak" sound that happens after you rev and let go the throttle? The "vrooooommmm....klak klak klak klak" sound......

Try adjusting the entire heatshield. It could be some part of  the heatshield is touching the catalytic. I previously have this problem.
*
Ive changed the tensioner myself.....still have the sound. Looks like aircond cos i on off aircond sound comes n go .

I've recently gone for my 20k km service. the fc did improve after my first 10k km service so yours should too. for someone whose nick is speed demon,i think you are one sensible demon, doing 130km/h. tongue.gif
*
Lol. My fuel economy does seem a little better after the service. My pug frequently crosses over 200km/h so it needs a tame 130km/h long distance run every once in a while just so I know all the parts are still intact! wink.gif

2 days ago my car was having continous strong pullback during gear change 2 3 and 4. Only smooth when driving.in 5. It as though cannot move and then it pull forward jerkingly. At that time the fuel.was low.but.no warning yet. After full.tank there is no prob. I think HP fuel pump gone again. It was changed around May.

Thats the thing , no error or power loss watsoever. Just the clattering sound. My foremen say its common n could be solved within a day. So my guess is the guide or tensioner

Exactly like below

Ask SC to reset your timing chain. It's suggested to do decarbonisation due to carbon deposit at valve intake. This can culprit your timing chain as well.

Hi all, I am planning to get 2nd hand 2013 1.6 Turbo Peugeot 408. The warranty should be still valid (will confirmed on this). I tried to read this thread about 10-15 pages and so far the sentiment is mixture of both positive and negative. I am keen in getting this model, so words from current owner and not from random negative rants that dont even own 408, is it advisable to take 2nd hand? hows the maintenance? what are the expected minor problems and major (if any). Is it really manja as perceived?

Thanks!

Hi Sherz88,

I just got my 2nd hand Peugeot 408 2012 1.6 T from a used car in KL. Did my 40k service at Balakong SC.Very good service..... They charge me only Rm497 & used Mobil 1 5W30 5 litre engine oil. Starting from Oct 2015, The Service advisor told me that Peugeot no longer using Petronas Syntium for Turbo Engine due to some technical issue on Turbo. I upgrade to OEM DVD player with camera comes with 2 years warranty which cost me only Rm1500 including labour at Accessories shop in Kajang.....

But make sure the 2nd car you opt have the full service. My car even have the previous owner's cash payment purchase receipt.

I am happy with the car which come with Excellent sound proofing & Fuel Consumption........

I am also using Hyundai & Kia.....Of course Spare parts abit expensive compare to Hyundai & Kia.

Hey thanks for the feedback. I also plan to add OEM DVD player / navigation. This wont void the warranty? does the steering audio control support the OEM DVD?

Rm58800 OTR with insurance? white colour?

i suggest u to get AIG,Alliance & Am Assurance which giving Agreed value option.....

Agreed value plan - The refund would be full amount of insured value for total loss claim.......

U can have a look on this option.....I saw this after placing the booking fees on other used car.

Lower mileage & with Eurokit

Hi, does anyone know which specific model of Aisin tranny the 408 Turbo AT6 is?

Or does anyone know the 1st to 6th gear ratios and the final drive ratio?

How about the lock-up point?

And most importantly, how is the quality of the after sales service?
