never tested with Maybank visa/master

i believe depends which amex card your using. Before i went overseas, i called maybank to activate my card for overseas use. they told me amex transaction cost for foreign currency is 2.5%. while master was lower (cant remember what the rate was.) i am using mbb 2 card plat.

I am not questioning their honesty but just want to know whether any amex user have done this before without problem. i would say it is more to credit card user security topic why they cant proceed without the 4 codes?

credit limit is usually 4x of the salary, right?

MBB give me less than 3x.

mine is about 2x.
guess good paying record and years of loyalty didn't help.

I used to have OCBC four/five years back.
generous CL, automatic card status upgrade.

All online and phone transaction require CVV number for security purposes i.e. to prove that you are the card owner.

sorry noob ques. i just booked with maybank amex on agoda and was charged 'pre-authorized fee of usd1'. will i get the refund after they confirm my card is valid?

You will not be charged with the USD1.

the fastest way is to call and check with the cs. otherwise you may just wait for your first statement and see yourself.

the minimum salary to apply platinum cc is RM5K and what is the minimum credit limit that the bank will grant for RM5K? monthly salary * 2 which is RM10K?

and can't register to pay via phone using AMEX card anymore
