As i know ..maxis dont provide any 0% installment.. but im not sure if they accept amex for point collection,, most likely u will end up with calling CS to convert your payment to convert into installment.. which mean a little fee will take into consideration..im not sure about the rates.. give a call to them
*
thanks....
anyone had use their amex to purchase smartphone + package at any telcos?.....
what are the charges like and which telco accept amex.... icon_question.gif hmm.gif

It's my time to contribute after being a hidden reader here biggrin.gif

@OP, we need update the first page regarding maxis payment and I got some assistance from jovenne

Maxis does accept AMEX but only via phone. It's not automated but can be done with AMEX

1) Dial 123 to Maxis centre on Friday night.
2) Speak with customer service representative to request AMEX team to call back you on Saturday morning to proceed your payment
3) On Saturday morning, Amex team will call you back and confirm with you on the payment details.
4) Tada Done smile.gif

can i know where to register for your AMEX CC with maxis before calling 123?
cause i haven't register yet.....pls help icon_question.gif notworthy.gif

I registered my card long time ago. Actually I had forgotten how I register. But I guess would be:

1. Login Maxis
2. Manage Account
3. Edit Account Info
4. Change Credit Card no.
5. Pay method : Pay By Phone
6. Card Type Amex
7. Etc ..

Not too sure whether this is the right way or they had barred this?
Previously I had account in maxis easy pay. But I remove all card details on maxis easy pay, and register my Amex card through this way ( I assume ).

Anyway, just try your luck. As long as they capture ur credit card info, you can pay by phone. Doesn't need to go through CS. Or maxis ed change their policy or whatsoever? Good luck smile.gif

does it request for pin number if pay via phone....
coz i just try call 123 (without registering my cc as experiment) but it request for 6digit pin number when i wanted to pay....pls confirm hmm.gif

OK boys and girls. GOOD news!

1) RM50 GST for approvals before 9 July 2014, and shall be perpetually RM50 (i.e. next year will still be RM50).

2) RM100 GST for new approvals from 9 July 2014!
*Update: Wanted to cancel the Visa/Mastercard. They cannot cancel only 1 card. Both cards must be canceled. Reason is that both cards are actually tied as 1 card account. So, they're actually cancelling at account-level.
*
how to really confirm about this neh hmm.gif
can the CS really confirm this....not in website or T&C right?
and what when our card re-new (eg. card expire on August 2014).....after re-new still rm50? hmm.gif hmm.gif icon_question.gif

i called CS to confirm it lor.

First, CS didnt aware. then put me on hold to check. later came back confirming RM100 GST effective 9 July for new signups only.

Then I drilled more about existing cardmembers who's goings having anniversary this or next year. CS reconfirmed that existing approved cards (before 9 July) will still maintain RM50 GST.

It would be great if we can get a black & white on this new disclosure. What about if my card expires next year? Am I considered as a new signup?

ya, let's hope all this is true...

For those of you who are non regulars here and do not visit Credit Card General Thread where regulars post announcements besides answering general questions, below may interest you:
Interesting, Maybank's Terms & Conditions and Product Disclosure states RM50 GST for each Supplementary Card!? I guess the person who drafted the documents made a mistake and should be read as RM25 for each Supp Card or RM50 in total for the Supp Cards.
*
anyone can confirm about this rm100 GST is for new applicant after 9th July only right?

coz previous lyn member had checked with CS regarding this.... https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=69159693

sorry as i'm confused....
if based on that site:

- Maybank VISA/MasterCard : 1%
- Maybank American Express with Maybank logo on top : 2.5%

so, VISA and MC should be lower rate right? shocking.gif

but why you guys still insist AMEX is better? sweat.gif rclxub.gif

is it coz by the 5% rebate on weekend?
if on weekdays....VISA/MC better? hmm.gif

we assume it will be rm50 x 1 until you replace to a new card either due to expired or upgrade.

hmmm, example if the cards expire on Sept 2014, then i get the new card....is it consider rm50 x 2 annually after that?

i thought it's only for new card approved from 9th July 2014 onwards hmm.gif hmm.gif

Transaction date determines your eligibiltiy for cash rebate.
Posting date is only important if it on the last day of the month. For e.g. this month's 31st will fall on Sunday, so if you swipe on Sunday and merchant only posts on Monday; you will still get your 5% rebate but it will be part of your September's rebate and will not be calculated in August rebate.

Hope this clarifies.
