Wanted to try on breadboard by soldering atmega to perf board. But with my skill, cheap equipment and size of atmega, impossible.  sad.gif

There's a reason why people use teensy in prototypes...

Wah, poison poison. Any notable change in the typing sound? My current switch (and key) sounds pretty darn awesome IMO. Deep and low tone instead of high pitched that you hear on blues.

It'd be great if it actually sounds like this.

Tone depends on keycaps.

Currently using mix and match DSA profile (left hand) and mostly DCS double-shot ABS (because my right hand haven't fully memorized the layout yet)

Click is closer to a thud than actual click, mainly due to bigger bump. I highly suggest that you try typing on ergo clears with a pair of headphones and let the sound translate through your fingers instead.

Just get an atmega breakout board. One of those TQFP to DIP converters. You can even practice your soldering skills on them. The Key is get tons of flux

For Perf board, i absolutely despise that thing. They are horrible. Get a good quality breadboard and you should be fine.

Teensy is fine for prototyping, but man....it is pricey.
Can buy a lot of Atmega already

Or you know, just get the Arduino clones from Taobao, and flash the AVR bootloader on it and you should be good to go for prototyping.

All dear Mechanical Keyboarders, I want to ask if the Corsair Vengeance K70 Red have any problem? I mean I like the looks of this keyboard, but, I am worried about it's durability.
I had researched a little about it. But, I want to learn about it.
Anyone? Thanks.

I still very reluctant to solder such intricate stuff. Even though my skills improved a lot compared to before I started doing keyboards, I am still scared.

Partially. Sometimes you get the tracking status that it arrived in the local processing center. That means you'll get the item in 3 days.

Zalman K-500 using FAKE/CLONE cherry switches (Kailh switch). Very high reliable issue, the stem of the switch easily broken.
Razer also using the same kind of switch.
So, avoid this brand or those brands with kailh. Or else, your future mkb don't last long.

You can have a look in this link for the introduction of Kailh switch. http://imgur.com/a/7ujle
Zalman K500 also inside.

Let us know your feedback after you look.

LOL. Zalman and his Kailh friends. Looks identical.

I use this one in my prototype keyboard, and it suck. The click clack is there, but it does not feel as smooth nor responsive as cherry blue. Okay for playing simple games like cs, but for typing, tend to be slower and lots of mistake.

Its aristotle cherry clone.
