QUOTE(yukihatsu @ Jun 25 2014, 09:22 AM) Brown. I added some blu tack on some of the keycaps to muffle the noise a little. Works great so far. Feel change the Ergo Clear sound also not like that, because it no so really heard that tick sound, it need to mix it wood mount then only can deep like that. Upon reading the YouTube comments, it is indeed Ergo Clears. Sounds so heavenly. Edit: The blu tack mod looks like this, gross looking but the sound difference is very noticeable especially when bottoming out. I applied it to my WASD keys for now. Might apply to more keys in the future. ![]() |

hi all,
just would like to get some suggestions for my 1st mechanical keyboard. budget: RM 300-400 main concern: gaming (dota 2), easy to clean (dust), build material, for media purpose not really into it switch type: brown or red (actuation 45 g), black mayb...going to test it out prefer full size keyboard instead of tkl SteelSeries 6Gv2 , ducky, filco nice? QUOTE(solou123 @ Jun 26 2014, 02:44 AM) First time MKB? Take MX Brown (50g actuation), no-brainer switch, you'll like it better than your current one, MX Red however is much less actuation force however it may be too light if you used to the rubber dome, it's seriously light. As for your budget, it's a bit harder to get good build Full Layout, Filco 104 should be around RM469? Ducky can be cheaper but as you want the best build material, it's Filco to go, no LED no other shit, just pure switches and plate gooding, one hell darn heavy MKB to boot. |

QUOTE(solou123 @ Jun 26 2014, 08:57 AM) yeah 1st time mkb... Different people different taste? I got Filco and I never regret it, but as for the stock ABS keycaps is of course not so nice, I fall in love with PBT and it's one hell hard to source and expensive as its can get.Anyway if you have chance to test it out, go ahead, but I can tell you the different of Filco MX Brown vs my Poker 2 MX Brown, it's very slight different but one should be able to notice it once they type between both. Filco's MX Brown IMO is smoother, less tactile and probably less resistance, feels like 48g than 50g on Poker2, the tactile on Poker2 is more pronounce, you can actually feel its presence then Filco's equivalent, I'm not sure what makes them such difference but it's there, but I don't think such subtle difference will make any different in gaming, I'm bottom it out anyway when I game. |

0168257061I asked GON for that quote for the 38gt+plate combo I was talking about.
QUOTE Hi combataran, You can get a quote as follows. http://www.gonskeyboardworks.com/home/67-g...ngassembly.html Choose options you want, like switches... at the link above. And deduct $140 from the total. This is the price gap between NS38 housing and UV60 plate. Thanks, GON After doing some math, that's still about $10 cheaper than ordering from the Sprit GB(aluminium plate, pcb pre, switches and LEDs, fully tuned and assembled). Gotta save up now. |

QUOTE(solou123 @ Jun 26 2014, 02:20 AM) hi all, Buy a cheapo one first. Locally, that means, Ducky Zero Shine (sub-300) or Rosewill. Personally, I'd vouch for ducky because I used it with no problem last time. just would like to get some suggestions for my 1st mechanical keyboard. budget: RM 300-400 main concern: gaming (dota 2), easy to clean (dust), build material, for media purpose not really into it switch type: brown or red (actuation 45 g), black mayb...going to test it out prefer full size keyboard instead of tkl SteelSeries 6Gv2 , ducky, filco nice? Build-wise, the Ducky is quite solid (a small step below Filco) unless you start looking for LEDs, then I'd say that nothing really beats the Ducky Shine 3, or the Shine 4 when it does come out in terms of bling and build quality. I you're playing Doto, I suggest that you go for Blues insted, and only use Browns if your fingers are softer than a pvssy. cat's paws. You know what I mean. Personally, I use 55g Ergo Clears for Dota. If you're using desktop rubber dome previously, then MX Blue's actuation force isn't that big of a difference. If you have been using laptops more, then it might take a while. All MKBs are relatively easy to clean (use polident to bath the keycaps, then just vacuum/brush the housing). If you're in the Subang area, I can suggest a few shops if you're looking for new keyboards. p/s: the rune bindings changed, so you might wanna take a look into changing your macros. |

Take MX Brown (50g actuation), no-brainer switch, you'll like it better than your current one, MX Red however is much less actuation force however it may be too light if you used to the rubber dome, it's seriously light. MX Cherry Brown is only 45g(45cN) actuation force, 55g(55cN) peak force. As for your budget, it's a bit harder to get good build Full Layout, Filco 104 should be around RM469? Ducky can be cheaper but as you want the best build material, it's Filco to go, no LED no other shit, just pure switches and plate gooding, one hell darn heavy MKB to boot. MX Cherry Red also 45g actuation force without peak force, so, you will feel MX Red lighter. Filco Majestouch 2 104keys only cost RM399, where Ducky Shine 3 108keys is RM469. Filco is more cheaper than Ducky Shine. This post has been edited by quovadis123: Jun 26 2014, 11:07 AM |

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Jun 26 2014, 11:02 AM) Sticker, lube, solder, test, tune, program... I don't think it's easy at all. I would assemble on my own though. gain exp at the same time save money for moar stuff You think easy? On the other hand, I'll never let anyone do it for me because I like doing it. anyways what rune binding you mention was changed? the coordinates? |
