mx green is more stiffer than black, black is around 80g.
65 or 68g is feeling like slightly stiffer than mx blue.

Here's the comparison made/tested by sprit for the gold-plated springs.

*some ppl tested gold-plated is slightly stiffer than normal one at same spec (62g gold vs 62 normal)l, but i'm not sure if it is true.
I have only tested 65g gold is kinda similar to 67g normal.
*
Alright, count me in for 85g ss spring, just inform me if the payment need to be made

Right now I'm finding supplier willing is willing to make the plates for us. So far, I'm sending them the ergodox litster case as the test and see how much they wanna quote for that. If they're not too expensive, we can start thinking about making our own MKBs!
*
Have you found any? Most company that i ask for laser cut seems to be ignoring personal project. Even the previous 2 company that send me their quotation havent replied anything for my production.

what's the good news bro? phantom okay?

Pcb is the issue I guess. Need someone familiar with pcb tech and design. As for led i manage to get fn layer to work, and can adjust that for whole mkb led.

Only that all layer fn led burned after few days except capslock, all with 330ohm resistor. Maybe serial + parallel connection requires different resistor placement/power.

I've manage to get my case into production today, the total price was RM141.50 (1.5mm aluminium top, 1mm bottom, 3x3mm acrylic layer in the middle) at SC lasercut. If you find other company quotation quite high, try Sc Lasercut because seems like that the cheapest company I can find so far. But have to go there directly because they seems to be slow in replying email.

Is the price with the materials? Or just the cutting price?

With materials, if you want all aluminium, its around 170+ i think

zennasyndroxx I remember that you ask about cnc milling, try asking Mr Ng Kah Weng 019-3318728, because there's limitation and few changes need to be done if you want cnc milling. Better if you speak directly with him incase you have more question. He's friendly laugh.gif

Here is the file I send him

Edit: just mention my name, farid, so that he'll know what it is about

Not looking at DIY-ing yet but would definitely love to explore that route in the future.
Yeah, I think so as well. So far so good with the FN + arrow keys. It's still a very conscious and unnatural thing to press FN + arrows but I think I'll get used to it sooner or later lah.
*
I gave it a go for nearly 2 weeks, but end up back to keyboard with arrow keys. Navigating text editor with poker2 just seems unnatural to me sad.gif
But playing cs: go on it is good due to smaller size

Guys I think I finally contributed to mkb thread by persuading 2 of my friends to buy mkb !! rclxms.gif

But no matter how I explain and say, they still want those krappi dong dong Corsair K70 or Razer Deathstalker/Blackwidow doh.gif doh.gif

I told them Filco TKL made one of the best keyboards in the world.

Their build quality is superb and you can modify it to your personal preference.
*
Is corsair really bad other than dying led? the build quality? I'm kind of corsair fanboi when it comes to power supply, no idea on the peripheral tongue.gif

Those are some legit keycaps there man. Are those the DSA Granite keycaps?
*
Not really poker2, more of diy poker 2 clone. Still using it, alternating between 2 keyboard

How much you paid for yours?
I DON'T CARE! I WANT MY PCB FILES!
We will still see an LYN keyboard, just that we might need to take a little longer.

I'm more leaning towards matt3o for the source files because we can make our own mods.
Get a cable extender and leave that on your desk.
SP doubleshots are relatively thin if you're going ABS. PBTs are usually dye-subbed.
*
I know matt30 did a pcb, but wasnt it a simple pcb? The teensy part still have to be handwired manually. I might miss his other project, he has toooooo many project. Anyway maybe he's busy or something, he used to replied to me quite fast last time.

Interesting. Are MX Clears similar to Browns but heavier?

Wah. Poisoned already. drool.gif I saw on eBay that a single MX Clear switch costs $4. Is it normal?

Suppose to be heavier and more tactile, joined hmwgbworld spring gb just incase I find it too heavy. Try asking 016 if you need mx clear. His price is better than ebay price

Just took my case, open and check. Sh** should have check at the shop, was in rush to beat sg buloh rush hour traffic sad.gif

The cut is good, because accordcing to matt3o, the cut tolerance might be different with different machine. Some of his case were a bit loose due to different laser cut vendor.

My complaint, really SC Laser Cut? Should have check on the spot instead of trusting you guys.

Scratches on aluminium plate, there's more actually.

Overall, its ok, but would have expect a much better finishing. Guess cheap comes at a price. Maybe I'll send it for polish or powder coating or something.

Maybe i'll add more scratch using sandpaper to fix the scratch, brushed aluminium look.
SC going to replace the burned part, but have to wait till monday, for aluminium, I actually have to add the option for polishing. They should have told me that earlier though.

Other than that, the case is really solid, no flex at all, so will work with or without pcb

And if anyone want to give it a go, maybe try with another company. Ng Kah Weng from khoo wang or thye hong technology (he uses gmail, so not sure which of these 2 company) seems to be more friendlier and helpful, called me a few times to ask about my drawing. Though I didnt use his services because its in Kajang, too far sad.gif

have u tested the mounting compatibility, whether u can put a switch through the plate and still able to mount nicely on the pcb?

I dont have pcb to test since I dont plan on using one, but I think it should still be able to mount nicely because the plate thickness is the standard 1.5mm. Need to add pcb standoff though. Here's the view from side to give you clearer idea

SO tempting! Haha.

I'm having trouble removing the switch housing and stem from my Poker II right now. Any tips on how to remove them?
Most of the guides I saw online suggest that I use a pair of tweezers or paper clips to 'hook' into the 4 sockets around the switch but that didn't work for me. sad.gif

I think you cant with poker 2 stock plate, have to desolder. I dont own real poker 2 so I might be wrong

only 6061 and 7075 type aluminium are good for laser-cutting, cnc milling, etc. lower rated aluminium will have problems as yours did. try ask your manufacturer about using these types.

if those are indeed 6061 or 7075, then its hard to imagine how can they messed up cutting your stuff quite badly.
