QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Jun 15 2014, 01:12 PM) Whoa. What keyboard is that? Looks like a 70%-is custom. My kind of sizes! QUOTE(D.D.D @ Jun 15 2014, 05:46 PM) i goggled , red switch is much btr if for gaming purposely . the 1st page suggest cm storm /filco /ducky 3 brand , how about other brand ?? and any idea how about razer black widow??? corsair vengeance??? Different for different people. Linear switches definitely if you want for FPS, but MX Browns works for gaming too. Nothing really beats Topre though... Lubed and stickered 55g/62g Ergo clears come close... but you still get some hysteresis because of the MX switches design. Other brands... urgh... Normlly we prefer those that follow the standard layout (aka ANSI layout) because the keycaps are easy to replace. We want to replace the keycaps because they usually don't last as long as the switches (stock keycaps usually will shine after a few months). Non-standard sizes and you'll need modifier kits or Tsangan kits and it's ridiculously annoying to replace. The 2014 Razers also use Kailh-manufactured switches, which are notoriously low quality. |

I'm willing to go for 2 packs I thinkbtw anyone interested with springs gb? http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=55888.0 I have requested for normal springs and they are now available to order, but moq is 100 i think. Normal = 6usd each set (100pcs each set) Gold-plated = 10usd each set (100pcs each set) EDIT: 55g only! This post has been edited by dadudeneverabides: Jun 16 2014, 09:55 AM |

QUOTE(rthm93 @ Jun 16 2014, 02:31 PM) Is there any where to buy a replacement PCB? Could be a simple connector falling loose issue. Re-soldering shouldn't take more than 30 minutes of your time. PM me or @016 boss if you want to know more.I think I've spoilt the usb connector and its beyond repair. my mkb is rosewill rk-9000 If there are no replacements. Is there other options? I am sure that all the switches are working fine. |

QUOTE(rthm93 @ Jun 16 2014, 03:09 PM) well, i've sent it for warranty claim, but they told me they cant repair it. (Its my fault for spoiling it tho...) Then you've come to the right place. Funny thing is me and 016 around the same area (Subang/Sunway), so if you can catch either one of us at your own timing then it'll be fine. or simply they dont wan to entertain it since the warranty is void... btw i haven get back my mkb, i will take a photo of the damaged part after i get i back. thanks for the replies Of course, we offer additional modding services |

So far, I'm sending them the ergodox litster case as the test and see how much they wanna quote for that. If they're not too expensive, we can start thinking about making our own MKBs! |

Teensy 2.0 and Teensy++ 2.0 are here.
Gonna be a couple of months before I can really start messing around with it. On the other hand, acrylic cutters seem to be gone, so it's back to square one for the case. |

QUOTE(faridr @ Jun 17 2014, 04:34 PM) I've manage to get my case into production today, the total price was RM141.50 (1.5mm aluminium top, 1mm bottom, 3x3mm acrylic layer in the middle) at SC lasercut. If you find other company quotation quite high, try Sc Lasercut because seems like that the cheapest company I can find so far. But have to go there directly because they seems to be slow in replying email. Sounds good. If we can get a sub RM200 case I think it'll be great. Now we only need to wait for PCBs. |

QUOTE(capablanca @ Jun 18 2014, 11:53 PM) I'm planning to buy a keyboard mainly for typing purpose. Closest is MX Blue... but it's like comparing Ferrari and Ford GT40I type a lot but I don't game. I used to play with the IBM keyboard when I was young and missed that feeling. So, I planned to buy from Unicomp, but the shipping is almost as expensive as the keyboard itself. Anyone has any idea where else I can get the keyboard, or just to minimize the shipping. Or else, any other keyboard that can give off the same feeling? I'm not sure if switches and spring will give off the same feel. |

QUOTE(yukihatsu @ Jun 19 2014, 02:48 AM) Hehe, my Poker 2 with brown switches is here. (thanks to 0168257061) Welcome to the pure tactile world. Get a set of thick, low-profile caps (IMSTO) and you'll be orgasming. Typing experience is pretty awesome so far. I dare say that I like it better than my Filco with blue switches. The browns are sooo quiet in comparison to blues. I applied 2 o-rings on the keycaps and it's so quiet that I don't think I'll annoy anyone typing on this. Will post a photo and video in the coming days to show how quiet it is after the mod. Also, thinking of selling my Filco since my gf doesn't really want to use it. Haha. Then you hear about this weird ergo clears thingy... |

QUOTE(yukihatsu @ Jun 19 2014, 01:08 PM) I'm not sure if I'm selling it yet. It's pretty new you know (1 month+) so I'm probably gonna sell it at RM320+ (if I decide to sell it). Take your time. Took me a few months to start DiY-ing.Lol! Filco is... neither fugly nor good looking in my opinion. She just doesn't type much at home to be honest. And blue switches are a nightmare to be used at the office. Hah, thanks! I'm already rocking a set of DSA keycaps. Pretty orgasmic already if I may say so myself. ...and stop poisoning, man. I just got my *new* new keyboard for a day. Don't want to switch to another keyboard so soon. |
