Hehe, my Poker 2 with brown switches is here. (thanks to 0168257061)

Typing experience is pretty awesome so far. I dare say that I like it better than my Filco with blue switches. The browns are sooo quiet in comparison to blues. I applied 2 o-rings on the keycaps and it's so quiet that I don't think I'll annoy anyone typing on this. Will post a photo and video in the coming days to show how quiet it is after the mod.

Also, thinking of selling my Filco since my gf doesn't really want to use it. Haha.

How much you're selling? Blue switch?
*
I'm not sure if I'm selling it yet. It's pretty new you know (1 month+) so I'm probably gonna sell it at RM320+ (if I decide to sell it).

Reason why gf don't want use your filco? laugh.gif
Filco too fugly?
*
Lol! Filco is... neither fugly nor good looking in my opinion. She just doesn't type much at home to be honest. And blue switches are a nightmare to be used at the office.

Welcome to the pure tactile world. Get a set of thick, low-profile caps (IMSTO) and you'll be orgasming.

Then you hear about this weird ergo clears thingy...
*
Hah, thanks! I'm already rocking a set of DSA keycaps. Pretty orgasmic already if I may say so myself.
...and stop poisoning, man. I just got my *new* new keyboard for a day. Don't want to switch to another keyboard so soon. cry.gif

Not looking at DIY-ing yet but would definitely love to explore that route in the future.

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Jun 19 2014, 01:18 PM)
Maybe you should keep the Filco TKL for future use.
So, you biasa with the nav cursor keys of poker 2 already? Heard last time, you need cursor keys when navigate thru sublime text when writing in sublime text.
*
Yeah, I think so as well. So far so good with the FN + arrow keys. It's still a very conscious and unnatural thing to press FN + arrows but I think I'll get used to it sooner or later lah.

sweat.gif Ah, that Fn, I use it darn lots in my office, for the function keys as well, just feel a bit frustrated sometimes due the fact I need to press at least 3 keys to work.
Shift + arrow keys (Fn + W,A,S,D)
Holding Shift > End (Fn + . [period]) > arrow keys, 3 keys with simultaneous reaching for the forth key.

So, the finger is much busier than the normal TKL layout, but typing this is a breeze, so much gooding and feels with the MX Brown... in office. blush.gif
*
Yes! Even a simple task like highlighting a line of text (Command+ Shift+FN+arrow) is more of a trouble now. To make matters worse the arrow keys are on the left now. My fingers are all over the place now. Haha. But typing feels really awesome like you said. Really pleased that I ordered the keyboard. No regrets. biggrin.gif

Do you always use highlight/selection of line using command+shift+FN+arrow ?
*
Yes, all the time. To select a whole line of text to copy. Or word by word with Shift+Alt+FN+arrow.

See below xml code for remapping for keyremap4macbook.
These code remapped FN+Command+Shift+WASD --> Left Control + WASD.
For easy line highlight/selection use.
I believed you seldom use your control, so, I remap it to control key.

CODE
<autogen>__KeyToKey__ KeyCode::A, ModifierFlag::CONTROL_L, KeyCode::CURSOR_LEFT, ModifierFlag::SHIFT_L | ModifierFlag::COMMAND_L</autogen>
<autogen>__KeyToKey__ KeyCode::S, ModifierFlag::CONTROL_L, KeyCode::CURSOR_DOWN, ModifierFlag::SHIFT_L | ModifierFlag::COMMAND_L</autogen>
<autogen>__KeyToKey__ KeyCode::D, ModifierFlag::CONTROL_L, KeyCode::CURSOR_RIGHT, ModifierFlag::SHIFT_L | ModifierFlag::COMMAND_L</autogen>
<autogen>__KeyToKey__ KeyCode::W, ModifierFlag::CONTROL_L, KeyCode::CURSOR_UP, ModifierFlag::SHIFT_L | ModifierFlag::COMMAND_L</autogen>

Hmm, my team recently moved to a new office spot and thus 'new' machines + keyboards. Got stuck with this crappy keyboard (can't really change since most spare keyboards they have are French layout) where it annoys me to the point that I am considering of bringing my Ducky (brown) to work...

Any recommendation for an easy to carry around mech-keyboard for work?

Poker 2. Small, light, portable. biggrin.gif

Anyone else doing custom USB cable business here apart from Justin?

Try ask around Casing & Modification,
they usually make custom cables for their cpu, not sure about they make mini usb or not

Haha, no no. His prices are reasonable but the colours that I want are out of stock. I guess I could wait for him to restock but I would also like to explore other options as well. Will lurk there, thanks.

But playing cs: go on it is good due to smaller size
*
Haha, yeah. Portability comes at the price of functionality. What happened to your Poker II? Did you sell it off after 2 weeks?

Suppose to be heavier and more tactile, joined hmwgbworld spring gb just incase I find it too heavy. Try asking 016 if you need mx clear. His price is better than ebay price
*
SO tempting! Haha.

I'm having trouble removing the switch housing and stem from my Poker II right now. Any tips on how to remove them?
Most of the guides I saw online suggest that I use a pair of tweezers or paper clips to 'hook' into the 4 sockets around the switch but that didn't work for me. sad.gif

Damn it, I think I know what they are up to now......

Signature Plastic just doesn't like to produce PBT because it is so good and will last very long time,
if one buy a set of PBT, they won't need to buy another set for a very long long time,
so they just produce ABS or ABS double shot, so keys will wear down and people must buy more again and again !
*
Haha. Too be fair ABS double shot lasts forever too. At least the legends won't wear off even though the keycaps will still shine.
I guess most people buy new keycaps because they're sick of their current ones. Not because their current one is wearing off or anything. It's like buying clothes I think? sweat.gif

Update: Does anyone have a red DSA Return key and a yellow Backspace key that they want to sell off? They are from the Squadron Skull set specifically.
