Considering getting 0168257061's Clear switches. Any thoughts on Ergo Clear switches? I like the feeling of my browns right now but I want to prevent bottoming out if possible. Heard that Clear will help with that.

Aaah, got it, reset will be useful. Can the atmega32u take 5v power from usb or need resistor to drive the power down? Searching for atmega32u kit with solder hole, hopefully there is one so I can test it out. SMD is impossible for me to work on
I have EE background during diploma, and still need kaiserreich to read the spec sheet  whistling.gif  whistling.gif
95% of EE student dont even know what they are learning

Just take the power from the USB.

You want a through hole Atmega? Just use SMD la. Practice makes perfect. It helps if you have proper equipment as well.
I don't have problem going down to 0402. But if you want to start, 0805 or 0603 is fine. For the pin pitch of the SMD ATMEGA, just get a big and powerful solder iron with a very wide tip, and don't forget tons of flux. It's gonna be very easy. Lainlah if you use RM15 iron.

Can't replace keycaps easily. You'll have a tough time scouring for keycaps that'll fit, look nice and have high quality.

Wanted to try on breadboard by soldering atmega to perf board. But with my skill, cheap equipment and size of atmega, impossible. sad.gif

Ghetto green is black springs under blues.... you're using first-world grade springs, no street cred for your ghetto...

Wah, poison poison. Any notable change in the typing sound? My current switch (and key) sounds pretty darn awesome IMO. Deep and low tone instead of high pitched that you hear on blues.

It'd be great if it actually sounds like this.

Brown. I added some blu tack on some of the keycaps to muffle the noise a little. Works great so far. brows.gif

Upon reading the YouTube comments, it is indeed Ergo Clears. Sounds so heavenly. drool.gif

Edit:
The blu tack mod looks like this, gross looking but the sound difference is very noticeable especially when bottoming out. I applied it to my WASD keys for now. Might apply to more keys in the future.
